Why does my port site hurt so bad?

Ok so I was banded on May 26th so four weeks Tuesday. About a week ago I was in the shower and I bent over to shave my legs (Which I have been doing with no problem) and this really sharp burning pain shot thru my port incision then all the way across my stomach. It took me like an entire minute to be able to stand up straight. Even after that I just stood there for probably another 5 minutes until the pain subsided. Then I was just a little sore for a while. Every since then several times a day when I bend over or drive or whatever it grabs me again. Is this happening to anyone else?

This hasn't happened to me, and I'm almost 5 weeks out. I think maybe you should call your doctor to make sure nothing is wrong. Best of luck.

Lap-band ports are sewn into the muscle. I think the the realize band clamps onto the muscle wall. I would call your doctor. I was told that sometimes a port can come lose or 'flip' and if I feel any pain "out of the ordinary" to call. SO CALL, that's just my humble opinion.

Yep happened to me. I figured I was being a tough guy and would work thru the pain. It ended up being a port infection. I had to have my first port replaced because I didnt act quick enough. Call the doctor today. Could be nothing but he gets paid to make that call.
