Hi ya all

i am being banded on 29th september 2005 at Joondalup Hospital in Perth Western Australia...

My start weight was 136kg

current weight is 129kg - as of 25th september and losing still yayyyyyeee

Goal Weight is 65kg

Surgeon is Dr Kevin Dolan

looking forward to it, problee change my mind on day of surgery ahahahaha....its taken 20 yrs of bad eating habits to get to this weight....i had a medical scare at beginning of year and that is wot has spurred me on to lose weight and found this site and one in australia that is fantastic for comments and information.

i have told all family ( surprisingly my mum took it extremely well) most of my work mates know and it is good as we are all trying to lose weight and spur each other one etc...added bonus a gym has just opened across the road from work so we is all gonna head over there after work a couple times a week...and im very lucky as i have a special friend ( i call her my guardian angel) and she is going to look after my little boy while im in hospital ( he only 2 and a cutie if i say so myself haahahaha) and im sure she will make sure i dont over do it when i come out tooo haahahah...mind you she also got a hubby and 6 kids herself to look after....bless her cotton sox.....

September 9th for me!!! Hi to all........

The surgery went smooth and if it wasn't for the shoulder pain it would have been pain free. The stomach was muscle sore but the shoulder pain was non-stop irritating for me.... prepare for a week of that crap and you'll be fine :-)

I agree about the energy level in the hospital. Luckily I had a nurse that came in and visited me all through the night. We watched funniest animals at about 4 am right after she gave me a suppository LOLOLOL How fast we can bond with people under vulnerable morphine filled times.

I went last Tuesday to Dr. Joya, surgery went fine. I thought the pain med was lousy, not much more than ibuprofen. My shoulder was the worst part, still is, but it is going away. Took me a few days to sleep on my side, now I'm feeling good, but hungry! I went and got a massage on Monday my shoulder hurt so bad. It helped for a few hours, but was still worth it. Karen

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?
