No problem. I think it's great that both the X-rated threads and most of the religious ones are clearly titled, so anyone who wants to avoid one or the other (or both) can stay clear.

"I personally have a strong faith in a higher power. NO that doesn't mean a larger battery. LOL!!!"

That one has me crying n' snorting, followed by Paula, so I'll be laughing all day. Penni, maybe it's not pretty, but OMG! See, I do believe in God! Sometimes he really pisses me off but he's a fair, understanding dude that understands my anger. He's also damn funny. I was baptized Catholic, but there are too many obvious flaws and hypocrisies in Catholicism, so I pray to a knock-off version, DeLarlaism.

The bible and all it states is too contradictory for a wise old gal like me. I'm supposed to believe God created everything including my mind and mouth, but I'm not allowed my own analysis and conclusions or use of my brain and voice that he so generously gifted me with? Sorry, I don't buy it. Not my God. He spoke and said, "De, I made you smarter and quirkier than some folks and I'd be damned disappointed if you didn't use the gifts I gave you to show people a better path."

Now that I've turned this into a God debate, can someone explain why he doesn't want us using vibrators? Or does the bible say we can use them but we can't talk about them? The bible doesn't say we can use microwaves or walk on the moon, so why are those topics safe?

Your turn.

I don't think that it's a matter of Him not wanting you to use your gifts at all. He gave them to you, so use them girl!!! You have such a gift to bring joy to others, and use it you do!!! There's nothing in my bible that says you can't use your gifts, as a matter of fact it says that he who buries his talents instead of using them is a fool! So I would venture to guess that He's very proud of you for using what you've been given!!!

And, er, as far as not being able to use vibrators? It's all good there too! The bible only talks about not sleeping with anyone outside of marriage, not using vibrators. I think it's a safe bet that we can all continue to pleasure ourselves without remorse. *cheeky grin*

Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't the whole bible story start with a couple naked hippies running around a garden?

I start these hot topics because I'm attracted to intelligence. I know the smart ones will have good stuff to say. Keep 'em coming!

God created man and woman to create life. He didnt create just woman - and a dildo. He created both sexes - to have sex, with each other.

God made sex to feel good, so we would have it more often... ultimately have more kids. Making sense? you asked, I tell!

Actually I want to apoligize for my earlier post.

For me, I chose not to make comments about my personal belief system, basically because I would be devastated in knowing that I offended ANYONE. I try to be more generalized in my words when I post.

LBT has always been a place where we have aimed to include people, not exclude them. The world has done enough of that for us... exclusion!

I love you Lisa - always have, always will! God bless you~

This topic reminds me of a joke:

A saintly priest of the highest integrity passed away and was met at the pearly gates by one of god's gate keepers. Because this priest had been so devoted to god's teaching in life, the gate keeper informed the priest that god had granted the priest one afterlife request. The priest replied, "you know, I would love a look at the book of life". Done! The angel escorted our priest to the holy library and showed him god's written plans. Knowing it would take the priest a while to look through, the angel left him alone so he might peruse it at his leisure. Many hours had passed and the angel returned to collect the priest, but on approach to the library, heard a gut wrenching wailing & sobbing coming from inside. The angel hurried inside and asked the priest, "What? What is it? What has distressed you so?" The priest looked at the angel and replied... R!... R!... There's an R in it! CELEB-R-ATE!

Since I always questioned the literacy of the bible considering it was interpreted by man(and men make mistakes), & during a time when mythology carried great weight, I oftened wondered how we might interpret the same messages today, were we able to visibly witness what those in the day of Jesus got to see. The scientist in me needs to see evidence I guess. Just one letter off, one spelling mistake... and our entire theological belief system could be totally changed.

Paula, it's responses like that that help me decide in my belief system and make me think. Very good answer, you win a Pleasure Wipe (mango scented with Vitamin E, nothing sexy.)

I don't disbelieve in God, and I don't want people to change their avatars. I was just making a point. Sure, a little strong, but that's me!

A guy, Ben, used to work here and preach his Mormon values in my face. We were both happily married but had a very intimate bond since we share the same birthday. I'd shock him, then he'd spank me with his bible (I'm laughing alone, there was nothing sexual about our relationship.) One day I asked him, "Ben, what if you get to the other side to find nothing, and then you realize you wasted your whole life believing in a fairy tale?"

His response warms my heart till this day. He said, "then I'll have lived the best life possible and I will die happy for being what I was."

I actually admire people who are spiritually strong, and I have NEVER been offended by anyone's God-Talk except one girl who doesn't belong to LBT. My ex-sister-in-law shoves her brand of God down everyone's throat beyond imagination till everyone in the room is fighting.

Paula and Kelly, you gals have to keep your faith strong and healthy, and speak of it often, even here. My whole point was that we can all talk about what makes us happy without hypocrisy.

Damn, I ran out of profound thought but I really want to keep this topic going. Can anyone think of something shocking to say?

xoxo I adore you people. :D

P.S. I suck at selling. I should have used the Decadent Indulgence for my example since it's the most expensive toy. Plug plug plug. Also, go see Kelly's goodies cuz I bought her stuff off LBT, shhhhh. Plug plug plug for Kel. Ducking.

Awright, this is what I get for actually WORKING today and not, as usual, frittering the day on REAL things like LBT.

Delarla, I bow before you for speaking your piece. bow.gif That balls out "here is who I am and that's that" is AMAZING! Your confidence knocks me over.

There is one part in your first post that has really stuck with me....all the way home on the train today I thought about this.

It was the part about people telling you to act like a lady. What? In whose definition!?!?!?! For how long have women been told to be quiet, be subserviant, to be what someone else told them to be? I don't believe my suffragette sisters worked so gall durn hard so that in 2005 I could be told what acting like a lady means. To be FORCED to conform to someone else's idea of being a lady...by ANOTHER WOMAN no less. All I can do is shake my head.

DeLarla, girl, speaking your mind, being honest and open and helping women, esp overweight women to feel good about themselves is in MY definition acting like a lady. De, you are ONE HELL of a lady. Keep acting like a lady....you're doing one hell of a job.

I am new here today... and only two weeks out from my sleeve surgery on the 23rd. I am amazed I have kept my calories down to 467 today so far... that leaves me almost 750 left for dinner and maybe a snack. This is going to be tough for two weeks... but I have to believe I can do it!

Hey everyone. I'm new here so I thought I should introduce myself. I am 53y/o and am scheduled for Gastric Bypass on June 25th, 2025. I'm located in San Antonio, Texas. I will be having my surgery in Tiajuana Mexico. I've wanted this for years, but I always had insurance where bariatric procedures were excluded. Finally I am able to afford to pay out of pocket.  I can't wait to get started, and I hope I'm prepared for the initial period of "hell". I know what I have signed up for, but I'm sure the good to come will out way the temporary period of discomfort and feelings of regret. I'd love to find people to talk to who have been through the same procedure or experience before. So I look forward to meeting you all. Hope you have a great week!

I'm so happy for you! You are about to change your life. I was so glad to get the sleeve done in Dec. I didn't have feelings of regret overall. And I'm down almost 60 lbs. I do feel a little sad at restaurants. I can barely eat half a kid's meal. I get adults meals often because kid ones don't have the same offerings at times. Then I feel obligated to eat on that until it's gone and that can be days. So the restaurant thing isn't great for me. All the rest is fine by me! I love feeling full with very little. I do wish I could drink when eating. And will sip at the end. Just a strong habit to stop. But I'm working on it! You will do fine! Just keep focused on your desire to be different. Not better or worse. But different. I am happy both ways but my low back doesn't like me that heavy. So I listened (also my feet!). LOL! Update us on your journey! I'm not far from you. I'm in Houston. Good luck and I hope it all goes smoothly! Would love to see pics of the town you go to for this. I've never been there. Neat you will be traveling for this! Enjoy the journey. Take it one day at a time. Sometimes a few hours at a time. Follow all recommendations as best you can. 💗

Thank you so much for your well wishes. I am hoping that everything goes easy for me as well. We don't eat out much as it is, so it wont be too bad in that department. Thankfully. Also, I hear you regarding your back and feet!! I'd like to add knees to the list. Killing me as we speak! I'm only 5' so the weight has to go. Too short to carry all this weight. Menopause really did a doosey on me. (😶lol) My daughter also lives in Houston. with her Husband and my 5 grand-littles. I grew up in Beaumont, so I know Houston well, I will be sure to keep in touch and update you on my journey. I may need some advice in the future, or just motivation. Thank You so much for reaching out, I was hoping to connect with someone in the community. I really appreciate it. 💜

On day 4 of the 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Surgery scheduled for June 11th.
Soooo I am coming to a realization
of something and I'm not sure what to do about it. For years the only thing I've enjoyed is eating. We rarely do anything or go anywhere and if we do it always includes food. Family comes over? Big family dinner! Go camping? Food! Take a short ride or trip? Food! Holiday? Food! Go out of town for a Dr appointment? Food! When we go to a new town we don't look for any attractions, we look for restaurants we haven't been to. Heck, I look forward to getting off work because that means it's almost supper time. Now that I'm drinking these pre-op shakes for breakfast, lunch, and supper I have nothing to look forward to.  And once I have surgery on June 11th it'll be more of the same shakes. Even after pureed stage, soft food stage, and finally regular food stage, it's going to be a drastic change for the rest of my life. I'm giving up the one thing that really brings me joy. Eating. How do you cope with that? What do you do to fill that void? Wow. Now I'm sad.

I hope your surgery on Wednesday goes well. You will be able to do all sorts of new things as you find your new normal after surgery. I don't know this from experience yet, but I am seeing a lot of positive things from people who have had it done. Best of luck!

Life as a big person had limited my life to what I knew I could manage to do each day. That was eat. I hadn't anything else to look forward to. So my eating choices were the best I could dream up. I planned the cooking in managable lots in my head and filled my day with and around it.

Now I have a whole new big, bigger, biggest, best days ever. I am out there with those skinny people doing stuff i could never have dreamt of. Food is now an after thought. It doesn't consume my day. I still enjoy the good home cooked food but I eat smaller portions. I leave food on my plate when I am full. I can no longer hear my mother's voice saying eat it all up, ther are starving children in Africa who would want that!

I still cook for family feasts, I love cooking. I still do holidays but I have changed from the All inclusive drinking and eating everything everyday kind to Self catering accommodation. This gives me the choice of cooking or eating out as I choose. I rarely drink anymore as I usually travel alone now and I feel I need to keep aware of my surroundings.

I don't know at what point my life expanded, was it when I lost 100 pounds? Was it when I left my walking stick at home ? Was it when I said yes to an outing instead of finding an excuse to stay home ? i look back at my last five years and wonder how loosing weight has made such a difference. Be ready to amaze yourself.

BTW, the liquid diet sucks, one more day and you are over the worst. You can do it.
