Dr. Brian Swain - Lapband Surgery on May 14th

Recommended Posts

60lbs. That is Awesome!!! Sorry to hear you were sick after your fill. I don't think I could have went 4 weeks. I have my first fill on Jan 14th. I am nervous but excited! Seems right now I can eat alot and am hungry alot. I am guessing that is because my swelling is going down. I just keep telling myself to hang on for 8 more days. :tt2:

How exciting! Your surgery will be here before you know it. Dr. Swain knows what he is doing and is very good at it. I had a bit of a rough time. Not really sure why but perhaps it was the anethesia. I ended up being admitted to the hospital 2 days after surgery and then a second surgery 3 days after surgery because I had puked so much I had herniated some of my stomach over the band and I am NOT a puker. So if you are a puker make sure you tell them that and they will give you extra anti nausea meds. My stay in Murray hospital was fine. They took very good care of me. I hope I am not scaring you. My second surgery was a piece of cake and they say that is how it is for most patients the first time. The 4 others that got banded the same day as me all did fine.

Oh and make sure you go buy some gas x strips.

Let me know if you have any other questions.

Does Dr. Swain have a website? I googled him and didn't really see one. Does he practice out of the hospital or have his own office??

He works out of the Bariatric office at the hospital. It's on the 4th floor of Medical Arts I think. Phone number is 762-1547

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
