I have been working with my cardiologist and general physician for the past year to make sure I met all the criteria to get my insurance to pay for the lap-band. The only doctors that my cardiologist was familiar with are in Nashville and not covered by my insurance. I am getting very anxious and want a good surgeon that can do the surgery quickly. I am ready to start losing weight and feeling better. :eek:

You could ask your insurance company for the names of a few doctors that are on your plan. Then go back with those names to your PCP and see if he's heard of any of them. If not, do your research....how many bands have they placed? Do they have a support program (support groups, etc.) And any other questions you can think of.
