I am not banded yet, but my mind is racing with the usual ?s about life after "the band". For those that were habitual stomach sleepers prior to surgery, after your recovery time are you now able to still sleep on your stomach or does the port interfere? I'm trying to get an idea if I need to start practicing different sleeping positions.

I am 3 weeks post op and am also a stomach sleeper. Took me a while but have found a trick. I have one of those neck travel pillows and I position it just in the right place and sleep like a baby. It works for me....

I've always slept on my left side (where the port it) and I was able from day 1 to sleep on my left side without discomfort. I've heard some say that it took anywhere from a few days to as much as a month before they were comfortable sleeping on their bellies again.

i'm a stomach sleeper - but for several wks afterwards i was not able to. i got a body pillow (bbb) and it really helped me ease back into sleeping on my tummy.

I was sleeping on my stomach day 1. I did not move around much for the first few days but after that, it was right back to sleeping like normal.

I am 3 1/2 wks post op and have noticed that as more weight comes off the more I can feel the port. It's not painful or uncomfortable though.

Something I found that works for me is while I'm on my stomach, I pull my knee up to my chest and it is quite comfortable. As long as I don't move ON it, all is good. Which begged the question I posted elsewhere about the possibilty that intimacy could possibly "loose" the band.

I don't sleep on my stomach, but I was able to sleep on my side the same day as surgery. It was actually more comfortable to sleep on the port side that the other. Hope this help. Good luck!!!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?
