Anniversary Challenge

Recommended Posts

I am doing pitifully so far. I didn't even post last Friday because I was disgusted that I didn't lose and since then I have actually gained.

I am going to get this together! I will not be discouraged even if I don't make the goal, but I will be more motivated to make it next time!

Hang in there sister! I didn't log last Friday for the very same reason. This week I've tried to do better by just eliminating two things from my recent "bad" eating habits; Cereal and scrambled eggs. I eat the nuts-n-twigs cereals for fibre but they go down too easily with the milk and such. I know that the eggs are great for Protein, but they are just too slidey for me. Two things...that's my goal for the week.

We'll see what happens :mad2:

Well, I didn't make my first goal but I did have a good loss this week. I have recounted weeks and I am redoing goals. My new goal for 7/4/09 is -11 lbs (210 lbs). My goal is the same for my anniversay date -11 lbs from 7/4/09 (or -22 lbs from today) - which is ONEDERLAND!!!

I am pumped up! I have started training for a marathon. I will take the next 3 weeks and train like I am training to run 5 miles in an hour (I am at 4). Then I start a 26 week marathon training program. Then I travel to my sister's next December and run my first ever race/marathon all at the same time! I might cheat and run some 5K and 10K stuff in the fall because they are big around here.

I hope everyone is finding success even in your failures. I was reminded at a recent graduation. That Abe Lincoln had many failed businesses, Michael Jordan has missed at least 26 would have been game winning shots, Babe Ruth struck out almost twice as many times as he hit home runs. We can not succeed if we don't attempt and with attempts come a few failures. We just have to hang on to the victories.

Start:231.7

Memorial Day Goal:224

Memorial Day Reality: 229.2

Adjusted July 4th Goal: 220

Adjusted Bandiversary (8/4) Goal: 214

Well, I'm not going to meet my first goal (darn you TOM!!!), and I should probably adjust my final goal, but I'll wait on that. As of the 15th I had lost 3.5 lbs toward my goal for Memorial Day, but this week I put back on 1 lb - Water weight plus a bit of hormonal eating :w00t:. But that's still 2.5 lost since the start of the challenge. Onward and upward....or rather, downward! :wink2:

I missed my goal by a pound. But not at all upset. Any loss is better then a gain. I still hope to by 185 by July 4th - we shall see:tongue_smilie:

I hope everyone is having a great Memorial weekend.

Well so far so good, thank goodness I had a fill so I am down 5 lbs already!

Start - 165

Memorial Day - 2 lbs (done!)

July 4th - 10 lbs more

August 1st - 10 lbs more

End - 143

I am scheduled for another fill in July which I will do since I found out that I lossed some Fluid the last time when they checked. (about 1cc's which is a lot)

I'm shooting for getting down to 200 lbs by Memorial Day. This would put me down a total of 77 lbs and at a weight that I haven't been at since 4th grade.

My Goal for July 4th is 192 lbs.

My Anniversary Goal is 182 lbs and that would put my BMI at 24.9 which would be the first time in my entire life that I wasn't overweight.

Well, it's been an up and down last 3 weeks with a net loss of 0.5 lbs. That leaves me 4 lbs short of my Memorial Day goal of 200 lbs. I've kicked up my workout frequency and intensity, so I can attribute some of the "plateau" effect to gaining muscle mass. Altogether, I'm pretty disappointed in myself that I couldn't lose 4.5 lbs in 3 weeks.

Time to focus on my 4th of July goal of 192. Now it's 12 lbs away instead of 8. The next 6 weeks will be knuckle down time.

I am 2.5# short of my Memorial Day goal, but I'm very pleased overall. I just started a new dance class and I'm pretty sure there will be some positive effects on both my weight and shape!

Veterans Day is every day. On this, our Memorial Day, I specifically reflect on how grateful I am for those who have given their lives in service to our country. Despite my personal struggle with weight, I am ever so grateful that I live in a country so bountiful that this problem is possible.

I hit 158 this past Friday so I am in the 150's by Memorial Day

By July 4th I would like to be in the 140's

and by August 7th my anniversary in the 130's. My goal is 130 hope I can make that by the end of August.

I think I have hit my sweet spot with the last fill. It's really restrictive.

Here are my goals:

Memorial day- 7 pounds

July 4th -15 pounds

August 14th- 15 pounds

If I can reach each of these goals I will have met my overall goal for the year...

Good luck to everyone! It's time for me to get movin!!!

I have barely reached my goal for Memorial Day. I might have to rethink my other goals, but for now I am happy with reaching my goal set for Memorial Day. Hope everyone is doing well!

Thank you Lanakilla for saying what I was thinking! I love this country in spite of its short comings. I am most grateful to those who gave their lives in order that I could enjoy the freedom and bounty we have. I am proud to be an American!

Forgot to log this one here...only did the weekly one last week...

Better late than never. Missed my goal by just 1 pound - I'm not readjusting anything for the long term though, I think it's all doable!

Well, I went to my PCP today and he said I should maintain my weight now at 144. I always wanted to get to 139. It is still in a healthy range for my bmi etc. Sooooo, while I love the idea of being at goal I think I would like to slowly lose 5 more pounds by August 22nd. The ultimate goal of course is not to gain any. Good luck everyone

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
