Popping Sensation w/ Bending over

I was banded on 4/18 and can say that I haven't been 100% compliant w/ the liquid diet post op but last night and today I have been feeling a popping sensation when I bend over at the waist (like to pick something up) where the port scar is. It doesn't hurt. I am hoping that this is something that others have felt and is normal part of the healing and not something that I have done to my port or band. I am going to be following the liquid diet 100% from now on.

If you haven't been compliant with your post op diet, please call your surgeon on Monday. Depending on what you have eaten, you MAY have done some damage. When we eat food, our stomach churns to help digest food. Since, for many of us, our bands are lightly sewn into place, pending healing if you "churn" too soon you can rip it loose, or just rip loose some stitches, setting yourself up for a slip or erosion down the line.

Your surgeon will be the best one to tell you if you've hurt yourself or not.

Oh for God's sake.... Gloom and friggin' doom... The popping sensation I am sure is nothing. If you are real concerned, call your doctor. I was banded on the 20th, and have experienced the same thing - and I have been 100% compliant.

Good luck!

Steve
