Most Painfull Period EVER! TMI probably...

Recommended Posts

Ok, I am now 3 months postop and my cycle was very weird right after being banded. There were about three weeks where I was constantly spotting and then three weeks with nothing. NOW I am having a VERY heavy period and I am hurting ALOT. I had to leave work early yesterday because I could barely stand and I called in today and just stayed in bed. I have a heating pad on and it is barely helping.

Is this common after being banded? Will they all be like this? Or just this time?

I am probably going to stay home tomorrow too. Especially if it is as heavy as it was today.

Sorry, I now this is probably TMI, but thanks for reading.

My understanding is the fat cells hold quite a bit of estrogen that is released as you lose weight. You can expect them to be different for a while. I didn't have one for 3 months then when it showed up, I had my cycle for a month straight. I am only just now seeming to get back to "normal" after 6 months. Hopefully you won't have any more very painful cycles, but it will most likely be different.

Ugh, I'm so going threw this right now. Been spotting on and off and during period its just such a heavy flow that I can't take it anymore. I feel like something isn't right. I'm only like 10 weeks out! Hope this ends soon...

I am now having my second period in six weeks. I have always had PMS. Now I have severe mood swings, and I am more tired than I have ever been the week before I start.

Has anyone else experienced these changes?

yup this is my all the way... It's so not right if you ask me. But I really think it has to do with the band... hormones and what not. Can't wait for this phaze to pass.

In all honesty, I don't know if it has anything to do with the band, but simply loosing weight. I have not had the band yet, but am on a roll loosing weight since I received the nutritional guidelines (lost 35#s since February), but I have been having the exact same symptoms you ladies talk about! I thought it was just my body out of whack, but now this makes sense!

Those of you who are having the painful periods...are you on any kind of birth control or hormone? I have taken a low- dose BC pill for years...but I'm wondering if I should talk to my gyno about possibly getting on something else BEFORE I have this surgery?

Here's the good one. I had Chemo in 02 an haven't had a period since. Some spotting if I'm stressed, and in Nov. when I had a Nuclar Stress Test. I am 6 weeks out, last Mon. got my first fill and Mon. night there was my little gift. I figured it would just be some spotting, so I dug out the panty liners. Nope, wrong way to go. By Wed. I was searching the house for tampons. My husband laughed so hard I thought he would hurt something. He said that not only did I look funny, looked in some crazy places but that everything that came out of my mouth was something he didn't think I knew or would ever say! At 51 this is not a road I want to travel again! Oh, he also said we could work on making another "little tax decution". I told him I would make a "little decution" on him!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
