WOW JT, your WL has been amazing! Kirk must be so proud of you!

I'm off the plateau, but I've got a horrible cold/cough and can't eat much, so we'll see if it sticks once I'm better. 2.5 down...so close to goal!

I hope you feel better soon.

He's been gone for two weeks so he may be a bit suprised when he comes home for the weekend before going to Abu Dhabi for 39 days.

I've been happy with my latest results till this week I did hit 216 for a day but today I'm at 217. Guess after the loss I've had the last few weeks I should expect to stall. I'm getting more Water in now and able to eat a little more in the evenings the mornings are still difficult.

BG Sorry to hear you're sick. Feel better and good WL.

JT - You're incredible. Hope he recognizes you!!!

LBT wouldn't let me in yesterday. This week's total is 3.

I'm at 222.5. Doing better on PB's. Now I'm having occasional Acid Reflux.

Scheduled my right knee replacement for May 11th. Right after I come back from bowling Nationals in El Paso on the 2nd & 3rd.

That's so funny. Our Band Birthday is the same day and our real birthday is a week apart. Mine is 5/18. (the year's not the same of course, I'm an antique).

Congrats JT on your reflections, how cool is that ?! A third of the man. :frown:

BG- sorry you're feeling so poorly. I hope you recover quickly and kick the cooties' booties!

JG- Congrats on your loss. GL with your knee replacement. Well I guess I have plenty of time to wish you well. Extra positive thoughts can't hurt, right?

I'm down 7lbs! I've been working out quite often. I feel like I'm finally working my band. Though I have to be honest and say that I'm struggling with the not drinking while eating. I've got to get a grip on that.

I'm very happy to break the 50lbs lost mark. I still have a loooooooong way to go, but I'm going!!

Yay Heather...glad you're in the groove! Early on I saw a study that I remember when I'm tempted to drink with a meal (although I do with dinner a lot, but by then I'm not long for bed):

A scientific test showed that a meal of egg/toast/milk had almost all emptied out of the pouch after 45 minutes. Without milk, just egg and toast, more than ½ of the meal still remained in the pouch after 1 ½ hours.

Hey you guys! Just found this. Can I join in please? I need some more motivation. My weight today was 215.6 so the scale finally moved! I am almost half way to my goal

Uhm.....sure....lol

The scale moved again my weight this morning was 214 getting closer to that "Onederland". This the thinest I've been for a very long time even when I was in the Air Force I pussed my max weight limit which was 199 if I lose that next 15 lbs I be the lowest I've been in probably 18 years. But like I said I was always pushing that 199 max weight so probably be longer than that since I was in "Onederland". Have a good weekend all.

I gained 3.5 lbs this week. Disclaimer - I've been exercising every morning for 30 - 45 minutes. It's muscle. That's my story and I'm sticking to it.

Oh and not changing my ticker. I'm just sayin!!!

Congrats again JT, you will see Onderland soon. I have no doubt in my mind.

I'm down 1 lb this week. I haven't worked out much at all. I've got to get back on track.

On day 4 of the 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Surgery scheduled for June 11th.
Soooo I am coming to a realization
of something and I'm not sure what to do about it. For years the only thing I've enjoyed is eating. We rarely do anything or go anywhere and if we do it always includes food. Family comes over? Big family dinner! Go camping? Food! Take a short ride or trip? Food! Holiday? Food! Go out of town for a Dr appointment? Food! When we go to a new town we don't look for any attractions, we look for restaurants we haven't been to. Heck, I look forward to getting off work because that means it's almost supper time. Now that I'm drinking these pre-op shakes for breakfast, lunch, and supper I have nothing to look forward to.  And once I have surgery on June 11th it'll be more of the same shakes. Even after pureed stage, soft food stage, and finally regular food stage, it's going to be a drastic change for the rest of my life. I'm giving up the one thing that really brings me joy. Eating. How do you cope with that? What do you do to fill that void? Wow. Now I'm sad.

Life as a big person had limited my life to what I knew I could manage to do each day. That was eat. I hadn't anything else to look forward to. So my eating choices were the best I could dream up. I planned the cooking in managable lots in my head and filled my day with and around it.

Now I have a whole new big, bigger, biggest, best days ever. I am out there with those skinny people doing stuff i could never have dreamt of. Food is now an after thought. It doesn't consume my day. I still enjoy the good home cooked food but I eat smaller portions. I leave food on my plate when I am full. I can no longer hear my mother's voice saying eat it all up, ther are starving children in Africa who would want that!

I still cook for family feasts, I love cooking. I still do holidays but I have changed from the All inclusive drinking and eating everything everyday kind to Self catering accommodation. This gives me the choice of cooking or eating out as I choose. I rarely drink anymore as I usually travel alone now and I feel I need to keep aware of my surroundings.

I don't know at what point my life expanded, was it when I lost 100 pounds? Was it when I left my walking stick at home ? Was it when I said yes to an outing instead of finding an excuse to stay home ? i look back at my last five years and wonder how loosing weight has made such a difference. Be ready to amaze yourself.

BTW, the liquid diet sucks, one more day and you are over the worst. You can do it.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!
