Recommended Posts

Hi all...just checking with you all and I am pleased to say that I have done it...my surgury was on Monday 23rd March..Went well.....

Came out the next week and have been at my parents has being spoilt....

Have been a bit sore and tight around the stomach and where the cuts are in 5 place.

A bit of pain but not too much. Feel a bit tight around the chest.

Cant believe I was first on the list for the operation, went in at 8.30 and woke up around 1.00.....ended up in ICU has I had some breathing problems. When I woke up at 1.00 the surgeon was there so that was very assuring to see him. Was so sleeping and that slept til around 4.30. Was very very thursty but they gave me nothing until around 5.00 and that was ice cubs.

So now at home on liquid diet til I go to the dietician end of next week.

I've had 2 fills so far - 1 one last of 6mil and one yesterday of 2mils so that makes it 8 mils to date. Going in for 1 or 2 mils next week, not sure exactly how much. Maxium he will go is 12mils....Feel great. End of this week go back to dieticican for next stage - solid foods (bring it on)....Hope everyone is ok out there and enjoying seeing the weight come off. The only thing i dont like so far is the scales show a difference amount from my/dietician and surgeons...Surgeons is always more so I have told him I dont like his scales plus there on carpet......:thumbup::w00t:

Hi, I'm heading in for my 3rd fill tomorrow. Dietitian thinks .2ml is all I will need as I am eating more than I should be able to i.e. a whole kebab whereas I should only be able to eat half.

After my last fill I could only keep liquids down for days so I had a bit taken out and then I could eat more but it was painful. Turns out the stomach around the band becomes swollen when it is interfered with and it takes a couple of days of liquids for it all to settle down and before you can judge how much you can eat with ease.

Loss so far 15kg but it has been slow the past month while I've been fiddling around with the band. Apparently this is quite normal and when we get the band tightness right the weight will start moving again.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
