Has anyone lost more than 60 lbs?

Recommended Posts

I got my band on May 29th 08 - last year and have lost about 60 lbs but have stopped losing now. I have had three fills but haven't been back for my 4th fill yet. I am between switching doctors for my fills (closer to home and work) and have started a new job so I am waiting to build up for time off. Although it is almost impossible for me to eat meat for Breakfast and lunch still - to tight. I can eat it at dinner with the exception of chicken breast. I am getting hungry all the time now and am thinking I better get in for a fill but I am worried that it will be so tight that I wont be able to eat at breakfast and lunch at all. I haven't lost much over the past 4 months (since my last fill) even with doing weight watchers. Anyone having the same problem?

I think you'll find loads of people around who have lost more than 60 pounds. From the sounds of it, you may already be too tight if you can't eat meat for breakfast or lunch. If you're not able to eat solid Protein, then your meals may not be keeping you feeling satisfied between meals and make you feel the need to eat more. I can eat chicken breast for breakfast, with no issues. Good luck!!

I was banded 4/21/08 and I've lost 95 lbs. I've just had 4 weeks where I didn't lose anything. In the last couple of days the scale moved down 2 lbs, so I hope that's over. I was pretty terrified of the plateau. I've been down this path too many times. I stop losing and then I figure why bother? By the next month, I just start eating. So this time I decided to do something positive. I joined a gym. I hadn't been exercising at all until 3 weeks ago and I'm hoping that will turn this around. I also made an appointment for a fill. I couldn't get an appointment until 4/1, so I'll wait and see if I need it then, At least, I feel like I'm in control of the situation by doing something positive.

I have lost 105 pounds it sound like your too tight. Sometimesyou find yourself eating easier food but it may be higher in calories. I lost 100 pounds in 10 months. Its possible.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
