Hangin' With The Band'ers (Newbie)

Hi I'm new I have only just begun. I had my informational meeting and got the bad news the my insurance requires me to do 6 months of MD weight loss..oh well that gives me time to save my $$$. I have like $225 saved already..yeah. I haven't gotten my first appt with my MD so he can start documenting all the BS, but I'm preparing myself to go off the bad food..gooodnesss additic or what?? My BMI is 45 guess that is the new "Thing" insted of height and weight. I'm getting excited, but my husband thinks I'm not doing the surgery for the right reasons. He thinks I'm doing it to because my father is horrible to me about being overweight. Anyone else have that problem?? No spouse/signifigant other support??? I think it will be a hard road without his support. Oh well this is for me no one else!!:scared2:

Deener,

Welcome to LBT!! I'm about 4 months out so I'm fairly new at this whole band thing but I'm getting there.I toldly feel you on the "nay-sayer's" my mom was not at all on board and my mother-in-law and father-n-law blantantly did not approve. But I did this for me.Remember your the one who lives with this everyday not them.My mom eventually came around(she was so against gastric bypass)she welcomed the lapband with open arm's.My mil and fil have been pleasantly surprised by my sucess so far..........I feel better and that's all that matters!!Good luck to you as you begin your journey, fasten your seatbelt your in for the ride of a lifetime!!:crying:
