Strange noise coming from my tummy

Recommended Posts

Does anybody eles's tummy make strange noises? Mine makes crazy sounds after I eat or drink. I was just banded on 02/19/09 maybe my tummy is trying to adjust? It was so bad last night and loud that my husband and son thought it was our little dog growling. Just wondering if it's just me or does anybody elses tummy do that?

Nope....it's not just you. Since I had the surgery, my stomach makes noises too....Never did that before! It's funny!

Me too...LOTS of noise.

At your stage it might be gas in your digestive track. As you start to digest, the gas starts rolling around and making noise. I had a lot of that for the first couple months. It would happen a short while after eating.

To give you something to look forward to ;-), Now that I am an further along and have a lot of restriction it is a different kind of noisy. It happens while I am eating or drinking and it is sort of like the sound my kitchen sink makes when I pull the plug and the last bit of Water gurgles down the drain...same concept.

Yep, mine "talks" to me after eating too, especially now that I've had my second fill (a week ago).

It's sort of hilarious because my three-year old will pat my stomach and say, "Tummy?" and I say, "Yep, my tummy." I figure when she gets older she'll know what's going on, but for now she's just getting used to the fact that Mommy's tummy makes weird noises sometimes!

This may sound like a weird question, but if someone could answer it it would really put my mind at ease.

I had a band revision surgery on 2/27 and am feeling a little bit paranoid every step of the way through this... but in any case, here's my question.

When you drink thin liquids (like Water, tea, etc.) about how many seconds before you hear the gurgling sound...meaning it's going through the band? Mine takes about 3-4 seconds and I'm just wondering if that's too long.

Thanks!

My tummy is CRAZY NOISY!! It makes all kinds of noises. The more restriction, the more noise. It can get pretty embarrassing. I also burp A LOT more. That doesn't help. My DH is so funny. Such a comic. Now when the noises start, or I burp, he looks out the blinds like it's coming from outside and pretends to look for tresspassers. LOL

Mine's OK until I lie down - same with DH. We go to bed at night and the symphony starts - sounds like a couple of terriers having a fight in the bedroom, lol.

Who knows why - I can feel it and its past my stomach, in the intestines, so I cant figure how or why banding causes that unless its just that air in your stomach doesnt escape so its all noisier.

Thanks, guys! I think this has all just made me a little paranoid. Every feeling or sound is making me so nervous!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
