Hi everyone. I'm new to this forum. I've been reading over some previous posts to get up to speed. One thing I haven't found is someone that had Kansas medicaid or Healthwave cover the procedure. I went to a seminar and I think it was Dr. Malley that hosted it. When I asked his office about medicaid, they said everything but Dr. Malley's fees would be covered. Unfortunately his fees are the majority of the cost ($7500, I believe). I'm wondering if there's a surgeon in the area that would accept a KANSAS medicaid/Healthwave pt. My cousin had a gb done in Phoenix and it was fully covered under their medicaid plan. Hope I don't have to move to get this done.

A friend of mine has Midicaid and is using Dr. Malley. Medicaid will just pay for the hospital stuff but you have to pay for Dr. Malley's fee. The way my friend put it is that she is very thankful that Medicaid will even pay for the hospital fees ..... that IS lucky and great in itself. She is taking out a personal loan to pay Dr. Malley.

I wish that I had insurance that was willing to pay for ANY part of the surgery. I have to pay for ALL of it MYSELF!! (not fun).
