1 1/2 weeks post op - pain around port - normal?

I'm 1.5 weeks post op and have weird pains around my port area. I'm fairly certain it's not gas because it feels quite different. I want to assume it just healing. Sort of like when your stitches itch. The pain is a sharp, stinging sensation. I keep having to rub the area and look in the mirror to see if it's ok. All looks good - no extra swelling. Got my stitches out 3 days ago and had pains for last 2 days. Is this normal or should I call my doc?

If you're in doubt, call your doctor. What's "normal" for one person isn't necessarily normal for another! Just to be safe, give him a call, if it hurts you that much!

I am 12 days post op and I still have some port pain also. It's just kind of a dull ache. It happens most when I've been on my feet all day and have been getting up and down alot. My incision looks great and the tissue is not swollen around it so I think it's just part of our bodies getting used to this foreign object embedded in us.

Of course this is just my experience, so if you are worried contact your doc..
