Newbie - Banded 1/30- Should I feel like this?

I was banded on 1/30/09 (just a few days ago). With the pre-op liquid diet and post-op, I am down 20 pounds. So, in about 3 weeks I have lost 20 pounds which I am thinking is a pretty good amount for a pretty short period of time.

Since the procedure I can barely eat anything. Even broth makes me feel extremely full. Is that normal? Here is what I had today, a BariatrxEssentials shake for breakfast (2 scoops in soy milk), half a cup of coffee, water, chicken broth (1 cup) for lunch, water, and chicken broth for dinner. I am totally full.

What should I expect this first week?

I was banded one week before you and went throught the same thing. For the first 7 days I could only have about 3 oz of liquid at one time and I was full for hours afterwards. Now im able to have 4-6 oz at a time.

Congrats on the 20 lbs!!!

You probably still have some swelling which will go down.

Some people do get restriction from just the band with no fill, but most of the time, when the swelling goes down, you start to feel hungry.
