Lap Band and RA Meds

I was wondering if anyone has RA and how they are takin the RA meds. Specifically Plaquinil (hydroxicloriquin), I am leery of getting another fill due to the fact that I have to take Plaquinil twice daily and it is a rather large pill. I am wondering if you can split it, or if it has to be taken whole. If I can split it I would get another fill. Thanks for any responses.

I too am on Plaquinil- i have Lupus. I went for my pre-op last week (surgery is on the 19th) I brought All of my meds- My surgeon says I need to split my Plaquinil in half. I am on 2 2oo mg tablets aday. So of instead taking 2-200, I will be taking 4 200's cut in half:)

I've had a total of 5 fills and I was on Plaquenil up until about 2 months ago when I stopped taking it. I was able to get the whole tablet down without any problems, but I see no reason why you couldn't break it in half to take it. I say go for another fill.
