Wow!! You all have done such a great job...I am impressed! I have lost 55 pounds with 40 more to go. I went from a size 20 (on my 5 foot frame) to a 12! I am so happy that I did this not only for me, but for my family too.

You all are an inspiration to me! Thanks for keeping me going!

Gary, I too cannot hit (let alone pass) the 50lb mark. I have been on this plateau since the holidays. WHhch is strange because I only started sorking out after the holidays--believe me it's not because of muscle development either.

How can you drink beer? I would think that the bubbles would hurt.

Everyone has done great!!!!! I get anxious about my progress until I write it down...then it looks better. The Band is the best thing that I have ever done for myself.

My Bandiversary is tomorrow 20 Feb.

I have lost 47 lbs (struggling to hit the 50 lb mark)

13 lbs to lose in order to meet my one year goal

I am totally confused by clothing sizes...in some pants I am down 2 sizes in others I am down 1 size (barely). I am down only one size in tops (3XL to 2XL). But my shoes are really loose..haven't tried on news ones yet so am not really sure about my "new" shoe size.

The 25th was my 6 month.

  • I've lost about 25lbs (50+ since starting the process to getting surgery).
  • I'm almost halfway to goal.
  • Even tho it's been slow, I'm thrilled that I've been losing consistently and I haven't gained it ALL back like before!
  • I've gone from tight 24s to stretch 16s in pants and 2X/3X to XL in tops (I have WAY more hip than boob!).
  • I have a bit more energy.
  • Things don't hurt as much (i.e. back, feet, etc.).
  • I'm not so embarrassed as I was about being out in public (and by extension, not as embarrassed for DH for having such a huge wife, tho HE would never say or feel that!).
  • Feel this is the best thing I've ever done other than getting married to my DH and adopting my DD!

February 11th was my 6 month bandiversarie.

Start weight 323

  • I've lost 90 lbs since my pre-op weight. (yes us guys loose it faster)
  • I've gone from size 48 to 38 jeans, and from XXL to large shirts.
  • I can make 2 miles on a treadmill in less than 25 minutes (4 times a week)
  • I have so much more energy.
  • No more diabetic meds, or cpap and 1 less blood pressure med.
  • Still no fill (Doctor says as long as I keep loosing, no need beyond the 3cc at surgery).

I was banded August 22, 2008.. As of today I have only lost 30lbs but have lost 11 inches..My band is just know kicking in and I am feeling more restricted..I know most of the slow weightloss is due to my own weaknesses but not anymore..After reading how far some of you have come that really motivated me..I go for another fill this friday and that will give me 7 1/2cc's in my 10cc band..By my 1 year I am pushing for some good results..Good Luck to everyone...

surgery 8/14/08

Total loss 69 pounds; 12 during 6 month pre-surg program & 57 since surgery

Started in size 30-32 Womens size & now wearing mostly 20's

Still have a long way to go & have no problem with taking it slow.

I'm a very happy bandster so far.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
