Octuplets and SIX other children??!!!

Thanks for the video, Beth.

That is just crazy and uncomfortable. I can't imagine the circus atmosphere is good for any of those children.

As libertarian as I am (well....profess to be, anyway), there really needs to be a law regulating the papps. That is straight up crazy!!

I am of 2 schools, if they gave her a show, or commercial deals or whatever, then at least SHE could support her kids, and not rely on welfare. And I would not have to watch anything I chose not to.

But on the other hand glorifying such a selfish move, and giving her anything for it kinda rubs the wrong way!!!

You make a great point. I have mixed feelings on this too.

This seems to be a case of bad decisions on someones part who does not seem to be mentally stable. Talk about finishing up her degree soon after so she can make enough money to support the kids is a bunch of malarky because unless she is making 6 figures at a bare minimum. She would have to be making very big bucks just to afford childcare for 14 kids. I have a baby on the way and I was trying to figure out expectations for childcare expenses . . . best case was $150 a week so far. $150 a week for 52 weeks a year for 14 kids is $109,200. She may be able to reduce it, but I am pretty sure that she is going to need help even when she is home after hours.

It is wrong to live off the public taxpayer and I would prefer that she didn't do this. Unfortunately, we have millions of people with quite a few children living off of our dime. When it is temporary to get through hard times, I am fine with this especially because that is the way it is intended to be used. But when it becomes a lifestyle that can produce further generations that will do the same, I have a problem.

Then again, she may be able to support them on books, interviews, movies or tv deals, etc. I don't like this option either because it seems to justify the behavior. Would this encourage other people to attempt to the same? I am sure that if anybody could have 8 babies and cash in on it, there would be plenty of people willing to do so.

I have to also worry about this women's mental state. She is definitely into conception, pregnancy, new babies and all the attention it brings. I am not so sure that she is into her older children. It seems like she in unhealthily fixated on child-bearing. What happens when these babies are a little older . . . will it be time to go back to the clinic and give it another shot, or two, or eight for that matter?

By the way, I see the cow has her fake nails again.

Lol, I had my nails done when my son was born. At the end of pregnancy, a manicure and pedicure where like shear heaven in the last weeks. I was also naive with the first baby, you never really know what you are doing the first week unless you have lived it, even after all the preparations.

Then when he came, I scratched him when I was putting on a diaper when he was about a week old. Not to mention that it is a lot harder to keep long nails sufficiently clean and sterile underneath than short (especially when you are dealing with substances that come out of babies).

It took me all of one week to realize that long nails and long hair do not work with an infant, lol. Better sense finally took hold and I got rid of them both.

You would think that after 6 previous children, she would know that . . . or does she???

The issue isn't the scratching -- it's the bacteria that collects under fake nails and long nails. Apparently she was told that because in one of her visits to the hospital, she was there sans nails. Now she has them again.

And especially when you are dealing with preemies, that bacteria can become very dangerous.

It would be a shame if her vanity killed one of her children. Especially since the taxpayers are paying for the children -- AND her vanity. :tongue_smilie:

Her having children for her own attention sort of smacks at munchausen by proxy. Once she is not able to garner attention having babies, what is she going to do to get it back? Will she start making the babies sick? Maybe that is why she put the nails back on knowing that it could make the babies sick. Who knows with this dim bulb woman?

SnT I also thought of Munchausen Syndrome, in the way she is doing all this to attract attention to herself. I know several here have expressed a belief in mental disturbance of some sort.

I don't know if Munchausens Syndrome leads to Munchausens by proxy where you make someone around you the target for attention as opposed to yourself or not. Or would she continue to do something to garner the attention herself?

I read a book several years ago by Jonathon Kellerman, that centered around this disease, and was amazed by it. I have since wondered about several people!!!

Good Point!

I hope she's happy when they are all out of control teenagers!

The revenge of the teenagers.... I remember saying to my ma and dad that I didn't ask to be born. My poor mum, she suffered a prolapsed uterus and a ruined figure thanks to her ungrateful brats. Seems like the next bit of cosmetic surgery Octotwat is gonna want to indulge in is a TT. Her gut must be like an apron from housing those 8 foetuses.

My DH showed me a picture of her exposed belly on the internet when she was preggo. The picture looked real . . . but you never know with the internet. I am sure you can find it if you search for it.

Where most of us at the end of pregnancy look like we swallowed a basketball, she looked like she swallowed a beach ball. What really shocked me is that she didn't look as bad as I would have expected with stretch marks galore, there were some, but she had less than I did with my first pregnancy.

I was thinking munchausen's as well but didnt bring it up because I didn't want to offend anyone and wasn't sure if it is related.

It makes sense in that, like I mentioned before, it seems like most of the efforts are involved in the bearing of children more than the raising of children. If she was thinking at all about the children she already had, she wouldn't have continued to overcrowd and stretch resources both financially and emotionally for her pre-existing children.

How can you really nurture so many children as a single parent relying on your mother and not leave them semi-neglected? I can't help but wonder what kind of adults they will become if they don't get enough support as children. The papparazzi and media clowns are definitely not going to contribute to a healthy self-concept for those kids, nor is their media hungry mamma.

Exactly! I cannot fathom how they could possibly grow up to be healthy minded individuals if they only have her to nurture them.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
