    • None-tried it once will never try it again
    • Little-tried a little not horrible but uncomfortable
    • OK-can eat bread and/or bread products with few problems
    • As much as I want-Never had a problem with bread with the band

Depending on how I eat the bread and when I eat it. First of all, I only eat Wheat now, it 2 slices and only 100 calories for both slices.

Now, if I try to eat the bread without toasting it, I have problems from "HELL". It gets stuck, I HURT, I cry, and then sometimes, it comes right back up.

If I toast it, its not as bad. Sometimes it gets stuck but the pain isn't near as bad or lasts as long as untoasted bread.

I have found that if I put a little bit of s/f jam or preserves on it, and take VERY VERY VERY SMALL BITES, it goes down easily and I have no problems.

I don't eat bread often maybe once a week or once every couple weeks. I have to really be in the mood for it in order to eat it.

I don't eat bread. Any kind of yeast bread gets stuck, buscuits and quick breads I can eat in very, very small amounts Croutons and crackers work better. I find that by the time I eat my Protein and veggies, there isn't room for bread. When I buy a burger I take both Buns off and eat with a fork.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
