No appetite...how long did it take yours to comeback?

Hey all,

So I was banded yesterday and all went well. I am feeling great, I am up moving around and even took our little Yorkie on a short walk this morning!

The weird thing is that I have absolutely NO APPETITE.(Shocker!!!) I am super thirsty because my throat is so dry, but not hungry at all...

Did a lot of you experience this and when did your appetite come back? I am having to force myself to try to get in some sips of my Protein drinks, but I really don't even want to drink them...

It has been over three weeks for me and I still don't get that hungry like I use too. I am like you bellabean. I eat three to four bites of some type of food eating very slowly and I am good to go for couple more hours.

Whew!! Thank you, Peanutband. I was worried there because I still don't feel hunger anymore, but above my band gets a little growl going in there to tell me it's time put something in.

Only problem I have is constipation. Now that's getting annoying. My usual methods aren't as effective.

My situation is similar. The evening after surgery, I felt ravenous but I think it was really because I was so thirsty. That slowly dissipated and I had trouble getting enough fluids in. I just didn't feel like even drinking. Now that I'm on mushies and not very hungry, my worry is about not getting in enough calories. When I go in to "starvation mode" (which I've inflicted on myself many times before), my body holds on to weight like there's no tomorrow. So I'm staying off the scales (except at the doctor's office). I think it would be too discouraging to weigh myself every day right now.

I'm also struggling with constipation and not finding relief from my usual methods. Anyone find something that works for them?

re: constipation

I think it's time for a new thread so others can either participate or not. I'll start, Bee.
