Well for me it was easier but I had no complications. I spent the night when I got the lap band and had a lot pain from the gas etc... I had my removal as an out-patient and the incisions were on the same lines as the original ones and so they are longer and the pain was not nearly as bad. The port removal wasn't as bad as I had expected either but they gave me stronger pain meds also to have it removed since I no longer had to worry about my pouch. Nancy
