I had a fill yesterday afternoon and boy did I do some gurgling last night...the loudest in my seven months as a bandster. By the time I got home and got everything done I didn't get my shake in until almost 8 and I went to bed at nine which caused to wake up with a little reflux ( I need at least two hours from meal to bedtime or I can have reflux...especially right after a fill) I got up and took a Pantaprozole, its a tiny pill but I took it with a couple good swigs of Water and that water took a while and a lot of noise to go down. At one point the gurgling episodes were so long and loud it woke my DH up. He was half asleep and all paranoid asking did you hear that?...what was that noise? It made me laugh and think about this thread.

I have a tremendous amount of gurgling but worse yet is the burping. I do it damn near non-stop. It does not matter if my stomach is empty, full of fluids or even with a spoonful of tuna or egg. I tried the softer food to see if it went away and nope I still burp big time. I hope to God this is not going to be the case for the rest of my life. I see the doc for my first post op visit on Monday.

I burp a lot too but am glad because it is a sign that my gas is being released. I had a time when I had gas trapped a lot and could not get it out and believe me the pain is a lot worse than the burp! I doubt that you will continue burping. Your body is adjusting to the band and luckily for you getting rid of gas for you .

I gurgle sometimes too and it is always very unexpected. Has been embarrassing and amusing at times.

I imagine you are right. I could not fathom having all the pressure build up if I couldn't burp to release it:crying:. I just hope your right about it being temporary and it will settle down over time.

I gurgle and I haven't had one fill yet. It's usually in the morning and probably because I have a lot of sinus drainage.

Gurgling, funny thing huh? I gurgle atleast once a day. It only happens when I either drink to fast, get to big of a drink, or drink to fast and too much at 1 time. I think it has to do with it backin up and the amount of air that you swallow while drinking or eating.

I just had my second fill today. I'm now at 6cc's in a 10cc band. When I came home to drink something I started hearing a gurgling sound. Even eating a yogurt I'm making noise. Does anyone else have this?

When I asked the RN she said it was normal and some people make noise when they hit their sweetspot.

Will this last forever?

I can relate to the hubby hearing the gurgle. Mine are so loud that he hears them while laying in the bed. We just lay there and laugh about it, that is, until I'm ready to go to sleep and am still gurgling and it keeps me awake..lol

I gurgle frequently but it doesn't have anything to do with eating. Sometimes in the morning before I get out of bed I can hear my stomach. It is kind of funny. Just air in the stomach or intestines.

I don't know what a sweet spot will feel like. How did you know you hit your sweet spot? I don't know what to expect. I have only had two fills so far and 6 months out. I do think I need another fill now. Just wish I had an idea what it feels like to hit your sweet spot.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
