I was wondering can you still take birth control pills with the lapband? How many of you are still taking birth control pills and have the band? Are they hard to swallow down? I was just curiouse since every thing you eat has to be chewed a lot and i'm on the process of getting the band soon so i'm a little worried about that. Any info is appreciated:smile:.

With all respect to your nut (LOL) THEY don't prescribe. Docs do. The doctor will know if it's an issue for you or not! (I'm not a doc either but I question all nutritionists! LOL)

I was supposed to stop mine a month before surgery but they actually only gave me 2 weeks notice before surgery so I couldn't. I didn't take mine the night after surgery mainly because I forgot but have been taking them everyday since.

Often docs want you to d/c them because of increased risk for clotting/stroke

Once healed though a person who COULD take them should still be able to.

Their is NO absorbtion isuues! Please don't listen to that! I was told the same thing by a doctor, I found a new doctor ASAP!
