Woo hoo! I had a victory today! I decided to use the balance scales at Curves this morning before my workout...and I had to put the big slider on 200 rather than 250!!! I haven't been able to do that since 1993! *does happy dance*

I am dancing with/for you!

Thanks for the recipe! This has been a long and very helpful thread! Thank you all!!

So... here's my question after reading this and the link for the 5dpt... when we get to days 3-5, does that mean no shakes and ONLY what is prescribed for those days or to add in each days allowances with any other liquids? I'm a cottage cheese whore. That's my go-to food most of the time when I'm hungry. So... does that mean on the latter days, no soft Protein like cottage cheese or Protein Shakes? Just meat? Thanks, y'all!

How exciting!! I think I've been eating too large portions and the Cookies and bread around the holidays didn't help. I didn't gain, in fact I've lost 3 lbs in the last week, but I've been really cheating.

Thank you!

A lot, I started the test on Saturday, so I'm through with the two days of liquids. I'm actually NPO so far today though, because I have a fill appointment in a couple of hours. I don't think I want a fill, though - don't really think I need one right now.

I am totally going to do this too. I ate too many Cookies, and drank too much eggnog. Do you know how many calories are in that stuff; how does the milkman sleep at night? I gained 5 pounds and counting...not sure why. I cut out the bad food, but my body seems to be on an up swing. I am going to get a fill on the 15th, because I can eat anything...or can I? I am going to do the test and find out!

Bridgette, I don't think days 3-5 are cumulative, so you would only eat what is listed for those days, plus your Water. I'd like to see what everyone else thinks, though.

Thanks, MistyD.

I weighted (I don't own a scale)this evening at the wellness center and found out that I had only gained 1/2 pound over the hoildays. I am still going to finish the test, though. I was happy that I didn't gain but, I probably could have lost if I haven't eaten all the junk. I was still exercising and I guess that's what helped, it's true that God takes care of fools (that would be me) and children. LOL[/url]

I had my fill appointment today, which also happened to be 5 months and a day since my surgery, and I exceeded my goal of 50 pounds lost! Dr. Bonnor was very proud of me. I did not get a fill. I had decided before I went in that I didn't need or want one, and he agreed. I'm sure there is going to come a time down the line where I'm going to want a little more help from my band, but I'm doing fine now.

That is great news, Misty.

hey bridgette - i "cheated" a bit because i was craving veggies & had some, and one night i made talapia for diner and it didn't want to go down, so i had a shake....not sure there is an absolute in all this, i think just a shock to the system is what helps get back on track.

as of today i'm back to my signature weight...YES i refused to change it...LOL...

congrats to all who have lost. this thread has been very enjoyable - and yes slim a martini shaker does come in handy when the blender breaks:wink:

made a new shake today (in playing mode)

8oz skim milk

1 scoop of eas soy vanilla protein

1.5 tbsp of SF butterscotch pudding mix

1 tbsp SF davinci caramel syrup.....yums!

Thanks for the responses!! I'll have to give it a try.

BTW, I made that choc/pb/cheesecake shake today and Oh. My. Goodness!!!! It was so good! Thanks for sharing the recipe. I'll have to get creative with those puddings now. But, they still have some carbs in them, so I have to figure out how to count them to journal my foods. My doctor told me to count carbs (<50g/day) and Protein (at least 80g/day). So... that's my goal.

luluc-will the Peanut Butter dissolve if I mix it in the martini shaker? I don't want to try to make this and then end up with a glob of peanut butter. That shake sounds so good though. I have everything. I bought a new jar of peanut butter just to try this shake.

i would say no slim - peanut butter takes a lot of blending, my experience.

I was afraid you were going to say that. I have been trying to avoid Wallyworld because I can never go in there and just buy the one thing I needed. I guess I am going to have to make that trip to get the magic bullet.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?
