Kaiser Richmond Pre-op

Recommended Posts

Thanks for your good thoughts and prayers. I have an appointment on Wed. in SF with a surgeon. I am still being referred to the transplant team but it looks like the plan is to cut out part of the liver with the tumors.

Right now, I'm on pureed foods, which often go down like cement! My liver specialist doesn't want me losing more than 3 pounds a week because it's hard on the liver, making this whole process a little more stressful! Other than that, my recovery has gone very well.

Hey - just checking in and trying to see if I am still getting the notification when a new post comes out on this thread. When I went into Lapbandtalk.com a couple of days ago I had to log in and then it looked different.

Hope everyone had a nice Thanksgiving and ate mindfully. I cooked at my house again and had a small bit of everything on a salad plate. I vividly remember my first Thanksgiving after my surgery in Nov 08 - thought I could eat two black olives and then have a few bites of turkey and one bite of stuffing - ouch - my first pb episode - I was miserable for hours.

Wow I finally found our thread again - I think Lapbandtalk.com remodeled or something and it took me a long time to find the Kaiser Richmond Pre-op thread. How is everyone doing now that we are in the holiday season? I am doing good during the day and then make bad choices in the evening. I am seeing Dr. Im on Dec 8 to get my last fill to take me back to where I was at before I had half taken out.

Riley, Monique, Jess, Tina, Nicole, Christine, April - where are you friends?

Where or where did everyone go? And what happened to this website? Impossible to use - can't find anything. Once I found this thread again I clicked on the "stop watching this" button and then clicked on "start watching" and picked instant notification.

Is anyone able to see this post?

Pam

HI Reggie -

I am doing okay - sticking to my food plan all day at work and then falling off when I get home - I am seeing Dr. Im tomorrow in Vacaville to get a fill to be back where I was before I had 3.5 cc taken out to try a different food plan. I figured out I could eat bread and that lead to a carb fest. Not good. Looking forward to feeling full sooner and getting back on track.

Hang in there Pam, i know the feeling. I can eat bread easily too, but it's a good thing its not something that I really care for. Where is everybody on this site anyway? Hope your fill went well.

My fill went fine - I know have 5.5 cc in my band and I am planning on going back in a month and get my last cc to take me to 6.5. The Lapbandtalk website changed its format and it took me forever and a lot of work to find our thread again and set my settings so I would be notified of a new post. I think many of the other people can't find it. I may take the link to this message and send it to some of the others on Facebook.

Hi everyone, Pam thanks for pinging me on FB. I miss you guys. I'm able to see your post too. Glad you got your fill. I think i'm done with fills for a while. I sometimes over-do-it and things get stuck. I'm kind of in a rut right now, been eating carbs since turkey day and I need to break that cycle. I had lost like 5 lbs but I think I've gained them back.

Reggie good to hear from you too. I keep saying I'm going to check in more often and don't but I'll try, I know I need the support.

Maybe we should plan a holiday get together and walk in the cool winter air?

ok, .iloveuall.GIF

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
