Congrats Lee and John on 1 month.

Lee - 18.6 is just terrific! I was at 16 at 1 month and now have slowed down - am at 21 after 7 weeks. Exercise is my challenge now that I am back at work also.

Tam - keep up with the Protein. I think it is good that the scale is away - it makes me crazy! Can't wait to see you Sat.

For Our Walk on Sat. Meet at 11 am

Directions to Ellis Creek Water Treament Plant and Wetlands:

(It should take about 40 mins from Vallejo.)

-- Take 80 to Route 37 West (toward San Rafael)

-- Turn right at Lakeville Highway - Rt 116 (just after Sears Pt Raceway)

-- Follow Lakeville into Petaluma (about 10 miles)

-- Turn left at So. McDowell Blvd Ext. (2nd traffic light I think)

-- Turn right onto Cypress Drive and follow to just before it starts to turns to the left (past the UPS warehouse, past the River Montessori Charter School)

-- Drive straignt into the parking lot (Barbara's bakery warehouse is on the left).

-- Parking is before the gate on the right side or to the left as you drive in the gate.

I'll give directions to my house when we meet for the walk.

Please confirm with me if you are coming so I can do the right amount of food.< /p>

Hugs to everyone.

Hi Ladies!! Happy St. Patrick’s day!!!!!

Jess – Happy one year orientation anniversary!

One year after orientation and one month post-op to the day I went to see Doc Who this morning. All went well! I’ve lost 20 pounds since Sleeve surgery and I still don’t feel that hungry. Love being on soft foods now!!! I’m eating 1/3 - 1/2 cup of mostly soft Proteins each meal. I feel so fortunate to have Kaiser and be in this bariatric program. I had my two band failures which were very difficult to deal with but I’m ecstatic now about my progress and future weight loss potential.

Lee – 18 pounds that is awesome! My home scale didn’t show any loss this week but between the Kaiser scale in Lincoln last week and the Richmond scale today I was down 5 pounds. The Doc told me I should lose about 20 pounds a month until the summer when I level out.

I hope everyone is having a wonderful day! I go back to work tomorrow which should be interesting.

Pat I will be there for sure!! :cursing: Cant wait to see you!

Is Riley coming? She lives close to you yes?

For lunch I made Carnitas (mexican fried pork), ate 4 oz, with 1/4 cup refried Beans. Made some homeade salsa for the side (Tomatos, onions, and a pepper for spice and salt, thats it)

Well here is my BAD NEWS.....

I went to kaiser this afternoon for a weight check. Since my March 4th fill I have gained 8.4 lbs.

I am soooo disapointed in myself, and I want to quit, but Nicollie and my bf told me I cant...lol...so here I am, only down 9-10 lbs since surgery because I cant keep my fat mouth away from food....

Updating my ticker

Tam - I know it is hard. But I know you can do it. Remember when you almost gave up on trying to lose to qualify for the surgery? We were all here for you. And you put your mind to it and you did it! You can do this - you are strong. I know that it is hard being hungry - but harder having head hunger. We can do this.

CoCo and Tam - I am so glad you are coming Sat. - the triplet sisters need it - we are all having a hard time so this is the time to 'band' together!

John - Woo Hoo on 20lbs - you rock! You are amazing to have taken this long hard journey. I know you will be successful. Take it easy going back to work - it is tiring. I am finding I am letting the tiredness and stress start to push me toward eating more - my old head hunger issues.

I'm a bit bummed at the moment. I went to my training session at the gym and didn't even make it 10 minutes. My knee started to bother me, I first hurt it 10 years ago (omg, can't believe that was 10 years ago...) and it hasn't bothered me much in about 8 years. The trainer told me to go home and ice it and we'll make it up with a 1on1 next week. I was all ready for my workout too! The crummy part is that it was bothered on all the machines (stairmaster, elliptical, upright bike, recumbant bike) and bikes are supposed to be good for bad knees! Bummer. I definately want to err on the side of caution. So it's rest and ice tonight.

My....it sure is quiet in here tonight!!!

I had a horrible day with my eating plan....don't want to even talk about it...But, I made up for it in the exercise dept. I just did 52minutes on the treadmill and I'm at 10,564 steps and the night isn't over. I still have to get everybodies clothes out and make a couple more trips downstairs..... I just wanted to make myself exausted so that I can fall out!!!!

Tamra-Please take it easy and don't beat yourself up. Think of it as more weight down than you would have lost on your own and get try to get back on track at the very next meal....I can remember when I would mess up and say, "Oh well....I'll start over on Monday!" I now say, "Next meal!" No time to waste waiting til the next week. You still look beautiful....

John-sorry we won't see you on Sat. Tell Nikki I said happy birthday and she should go buy herself some new boots and gift me her old ones....ROTF LMAO. Have fun.....

Ash-Where are you girl? Are you going to be up for driving on Saturday? Call me.

Pat-Would you like for me to bring anything??? Tea??? salad? Anything?

I have to get my sh** together my appt in in 2 weeks. I sure hope Dr Whoo is in a good, generous mood... I need a fill...I'M HUNGARY....and I HAVE BEEN EATING!!!!! CARB MONSTER....Go away!!!!!!

Hope all are well....Tomorrow is a brand new day!!!

totally forgot....DId anyone go to the Kaiser Richmond meeting tonight????

Lee, Jes, Candra, John... where are you???

Evening all -

Got nothin new to report - picked up my dress from bridezilla tonight for her wedding and it's too long - hmmm? the one i tried on in the store was just right - guess it's their tactic - the one you order is way too long so you have to come in to have it altered - got a trick for em though - going to the cleaners for 1/2 the Cost!!!!

Happy Birth Week Nikki LOL.

Ok, gotta go, Gonna cry now - got the news on and there are so many dogs that have been siezed for abuse - dog fighting - got staples, scars and motor oil on em. So so so sad! I HATE THIS CRAP - GETS ME SO SO SO DEPRESSED AND I SIMPLY CAN NOT BELIEVE HOW CRUEL SOME PEOPLE CAN TRULY BE. My night is ruined, but I'll wake up tomorrow - they will be murdered for something they had zero choice in!

Sorry for venting but animals are my weekness and this just came on at the wrong time!!

Candra, I bet that dress is too long because you've lost weight and now it just hangs closer to the floor. As your hips and stomach shrink, your clothes grow longer. :cursing:

Pat, I don't think I'll make it on Saturday. I had already signed up for an Obesityhelp luncheon on that day. I missed last month because of surgery so I really committed to going this month. I'm trying to take it easy because I have to go to SAC to work three days next week. I hope that I'll be able to make the next event of our group here!!

John, congrats on your 20 phenomenal, fantastic pounds! That's so interesting that Dr. Fisher thinks you'll lose 20 pounds a month. You guys are such snakes! From everything I've read, women let go of 5-10 pounds a month after the first month. I'll be thrilled with 10 pounds a month but know that I have to really get my exercise in gear.

Tamra, you can do this sweetie. Clean your house and commit to eating all of your meals at home. Step away from Starbucks and other eateries. It's so much simpler to eat at home with your measuring cups and food scale. You want this weight release so badly or you wouldn't have undergone the surgery. You deserve this!

Tina, where have you gone? We all want to hear from you. How are you doing?

Ali, are you getting ready for surgery? So excited for you.

Waving a big good morning to everyone!

Good morning everyone!

Tamara I feel your struggles; start today and throw out the bad food and keep focused. I had to stop buying the junk food otherwise I eat it....my kids are not happy think they are starving becuase there are no chips and Cookies around but the eating healthier is good for them and they are not starving!

In my conversation with Dr Park last week I was telling her how a couple of people I know that had bypass have gained weight back that I thought probably was because they drink alot. She said that many times the food addition gets transferred to some other additon after wls. I have been thinking about that and its helped me try to get a handle on eating as I realize its all an addiction and trying to break that addiction is hard but a key. I am not a drinker but I could see myself hanging out at the casino getting my addiction fix....lol jk! My big thought for the day.

I see physc on Tuesday and hopefully Liz will see me the same day. I am going to push my surgery out a until middle of May as I am taking the 4 weeks off and that would put me out during my son's graduation in early June. Might as well time it so I can take advantage of the time off and save my vacation time.

Laurel how you doing? getting nervous?

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
