Terry----hope this swing down is over quickly and the upswing takes its place. I hate that you are so stressed, but totally understand how kids do that to you.

Spouses cannot compare, parents cannot compare, and siblings do not even come close. Nothing can make you happier, more upset or more scared than your child, and I am so sorry you are dealing with such crap right now. Keep in mind while it seems he is doing things purposely, he does have a disease he did not choose. And somewhere underneath all the anger and chaos right now is your loving son.

And wrapped around you right now is lots and lots of Violet love----one giant group hug---with you in the middle. Now if you want to scream and wail away, we gotcha covered!

And lots of us understand a bit of where you are at...maybe not exactly, but enough so that you are free to say what you want, and none of it mean anything after the second you say it and release the tension.

Hugs!!!

See y'all tomorrow!

Good morning everyone-

Terry, here's hoping today is a better day!!

I am really disgusted about the scale not moving. I am bouncing around the same 3 pounds and it is really doing a number on me! I am following the rules...AND exercising...I just dont get it. Maybe this is just the size my body wants to be?! Who knows....what I do know is I have to keep trying! (and at least I am not gaining like I was)

Have a great day ladies

Good morning, Violets..

I'm up, dressed and waiting for the Bobster to get his rear in gear so we can go biking this morning. It's 45 degrees and the sun is shining. It's going to be a beautiful ride. Ethan comes at noon and I have a flute rehearsal at 11. Then choir tonight and packing to head to Stratford, Ontario tomorrow for a long weekend. We're going to see West Side Story on stage. Can't wait!!

Suzie... I'm on the last page of the journal you gave me. Can you believe it's been that long?? Tomorrow I start a new journal.. my 4th since getting the lapband. I sometimes go back and look at the very first one and see how far I've come.

TracyK... don't worry about the scale. It's how you feel and how your clothes feel. I KNOW from your postings that you are in a much better place now than you were a month or so ago. Focus on that, not on the numbers. I haven't weighed in ages. I know I'm doing what I'm supposed to do and my clothes are fitting better and I have more energy. I'll weigh in someday, but not now. I don't want to be tied to the scale. And I don't want to be disappointed by it. So I choose to ignore it for now and keep on doing my thing.

Off to hit the bike path. Everyone have a great day. Be good to yourselves.

Hey Girls~

Terry...thinking about you sista! If you want to hop on a plane and come to my party...there is more than enough room! A little weekend getaway! ((hugs))

Well, I am pedi'd, waxed, colored, and guess what! I've got a huge mass of small blister bump thingys (I think what Tracy had) under the right side of my nose! Just in time to be the center of 100 PICTURES!B):smile2::smile2::thumbup: F*#K!!! You will be able to see it on the pix and vid FROM ACROSS THE ROOM! It is a fever blister and it is from stress. Plus I think I've put on 30 pounds this week. I am hella puffy! I just thought about something...I have a meeting today, which means I have potty access!!! I am gonna pop a Water pill!

Today I am picking up my gown and relaxing w/ my sweetheart! Her parents get her tomorrow and then my step mom is here on Friday. Like here, at this house here!

Off to think of a name for my freakin' ugly ass blister nose thingy...AAAAHHH:thumbdown::unsure::mad::laugh::smile2::thumbup::):)

Thank you girls -- so much. I know I sound like a broken record but there is progress....just tiny baby steps. What I'd really like to do is drive into the middle of Wyoming somewhere and dump his ass on the road and speed off. LOL Thanks for putting up with me.

Tracy -- I had to dig this up out of my dusty files...but this is a weight loss chart from the period when I was going to the gym. You'll see that my WL was not in a straight line at all. Fits and starts. And look at JULY!! I was going 4-5x a week and stayed the same weight for a whole month and then WHOOSH!!! Please, please, please...don't get discouraged...have faith that you are doing the right thing and will be rewarded accordingly. Besides, weight loss is surely not the ONLY benefit of regular exercise!!! You hang in there.

Oh, and BTW, my mom got real sick in November and then came to live with me for 3 months....that's when I stopped exercising and haven't lost a freaking pound since then.

Didn't Bree do that on "Desperate Housewives"? (dump her teenager on the side of the road.) I'm sure it's an option MANY would like to have!

TracyK, I second what Judy & Terry said... just keep doing the right thing no matter what the scale says... in fact, you know you should put it away for awhile, right?? & just focus on how great you feel, mentally & physically.

Today's the "big" PTA meeting going over the "rules" for the election. Another new person removed her name from consideration for a board position last night... cheeses me off, but what can I do? I am trying to stay in my "zen" place about it: "What the !@#$ do I care?" LOL! It works... SOMEtimes.

Other than that (ha!), it's a regular day.

Make it a great one, everyone!

Gosh maybe you should write screen plays Michelle!!! How is your son?

Terry all I can say is hugs and good thoughts!!

Tracyk hang in there, don't be discouraged!!!

Suzy, Thanks so much for the info on the fill, I really like how they are doing it, and it really makes a difference!!

Laura, you have been quiet, are you busy with Carson?

Busy week this week at work. I start my day off today with an older woman who I do first thing on Saturdays, but today she is getting a perm. I will be glad to have this over with. I have a bunch of colors today!! My hair has got some major roots, but I am trying to hold out a bit so I don't have to get it done twice before I leave!! I realized yesterday that it is five weeks from today that I leave, I am leaving later on in the day, working some first then driving til I get tired. That way I don't have to get up so early on Thursday!!

I am babbling I need my coffee!!

Jane

Four days post surgery. I am sipping as fast as I can and getting NO WHERE near the goal of 60 - 80 grams of protein or the 64 oz of liquids. I just feel FULL. I don't know if it can still be the gas build up (I would think by now that would be gone) but it is a struggle to drink. And so far I have not had the nausea or spasms and don't want to wander into that territory by pushing too hard with liquids. I about passed out today as it was my most "strenuous" day. Went from second story to basement for shower and I was sure I was going to pass out. Looking back on my last few days I have had a total of less than 1000 calories. Am I just not getting enough nourishment in me? Once again a friday where I can't get ahold of the doc until Monday rolls back around so I am hoping maybe someone here has some experience on how to keep energy going. I do have fibromyalgia too and that may be where some added fatigue comes into play. How did you all fair with the goals the week after surgery?

2 days until I fly out to San Diego to have my Bypass Surg. in Tiajuana Mexico. Not gonna lie, the nerves are starting to surface. I don't fear the surgery itself, or the fact that I'm traveling alone, but its the aftermath that I'm stressing about the most, after this 8 week wait. I'm excited to finally be here, but I am really dreading the post surgical chapter. I know its going to be tough, real tough and I think I'm just in my head to much now that the day i here. Wish me luck, Hopefully I'm one of the lucky ones, and everything goes smoothly. Cant wait to give an exciting update,. If there is anyone else have a June bypass or even a recent one, Id love to have someone to compare war stories with. Also, anyone near San Antonio Tx? See ya soon with the future me. 💜

I am new here today... and only two weeks out from my sleeve surgery on the 23rd. I am amazed I have kept my calories down to 467 today so far... that leaves me almost 750 left for dinner and maybe a snack. This is going to be tough for two weeks... but I have to believe I can do it!

Hey everyone. I'm new here so I thought I should introduce myself. I am 53y/o and am scheduled for Gastric Bypass on June 25th, 2025. I'm located in San Antonio, Texas. I will be having my surgery in Tiajuana Mexico. I've wanted this for years, but I always had insurance where bariatric procedures were excluded. Finally I am able to afford to pay out of pocket.  I can't wait to get started, and I hope I'm prepared for the initial period of "hell". I know what I have signed up for, but I'm sure the good to come will out way the temporary period of discomfort and feelings of regret. I'd love to find people to talk to who have been through the same procedure or experience before. So I look forward to meeting you all. Hope you have a great week!

I'm so happy for you! You are about to change your life. I was so glad to get the sleeve done in Dec. I didn't have feelings of regret overall. And I'm down almost 60 lbs. I do feel a little sad at restaurants. I can barely eat half a kid's meal. I get adults meals often because kid ones don't have the same offerings at times. Then I feel obligated to eat on that until it's gone and that can be days. So the restaurant thing isn't great for me. All the rest is fine by me! I love feeling full with very little. I do wish I could drink when eating. And will sip at the end. Just a strong habit to stop. But I'm working on it! You will do fine! Just keep focused on your desire to be different. Not better or worse. But different. I am happy both ways but my low back doesn't like me that heavy. So I listened (also my feet!). LOL! Update us on your journey! I'm not far from you. I'm in Houston. Good luck and I hope it all goes smoothly! Would love to see pics of the town you go to for this. I've never been there. Neat you will be traveling for this! Enjoy the journey. Take it one day at a time. Sometimes a few hours at a time. Follow all recommendations as best you can. 💗

Thank you so much for your well wishes. I am hoping that everything goes easy for me as well. We don't eat out much as it is, so it wont be too bad in that department. Thankfully. Also, I hear you regarding your back and feet!! I'd like to add knees to the list. Killing me as we speak! I'm only 5' so the weight has to go. Too short to carry all this weight. Menopause really did a doosey on me. (😶lol) My daughter also lives in Houston. with her Husband and my 5 grand-littles. I grew up in Beaumont, so I know Houston well, I will be sure to keep in touch and update you on my journey. I may need some advice in the future, or just motivation. Thank You so much for reaching out, I was hoping to connect with someone in the community. I really appreciate it. 💜

On day 4 of the 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Surgery scheduled for June 11th.
Soooo I am coming to a realization
of something and I'm not sure what to do about it. For years the only thing I've enjoyed is eating. We rarely do anything or go anywhere and if we do it always includes food. Family comes over? Big family dinner! Go camping? Food! Take a short ride or trip? Food! Holiday? Food! Go out of town for a Dr appointment? Food! When we go to a new town we don't look for any attractions, we look for restaurants we haven't been to. Heck, I look forward to getting off work because that means it's almost supper time. Now that I'm drinking these pre-op shakes for breakfast, lunch, and supper I have nothing to look forward to.  And once I have surgery on June 11th it'll be more of the same shakes. Even after pureed stage, soft food stage, and finally regular food stage, it's going to be a drastic change for the rest of my life. I'm giving up the one thing that really brings me joy. Eating. How do you cope with that? What do you do to fill that void? Wow. Now I'm sad.

I hope your surgery on Wednesday goes well. You will be able to do all sorts of new things as you find your new normal after surgery. I don't know this from experience yet, but I am seeing a lot of positive things from people who have had it done. Best of luck!
