Just been a troll but now I'm becoming banded...

On the 5th of December I will be banded and I am looking forward to it. Anyone out there that has had the band recently have any suggestions on what to do the days before the surgery?

I was banded 11/11/08 and this is my first week back to work. I recommend that you get all your grocery shopping doing ahead of time. Have your doctor pre-fill your post op meds for you.

If you have a family, buy easy to cook frozen meals or cook meals ahead of time and freeze them. Clean the house before surgery. Buy all your liquid post op fluids ahead of time.

Plan on getting lots of rest. :)

Good luck.

See my dr told me I could go back to work on Monday. I'm having my surgery next Friday. He didn't say anything about any time off or anything. I am a nurse I do walk all day but no heavy lifting or anything.

Should I be concerned about this maybe because of my age I'll have a speedier recovery.....

It is an individual thing. My doctor told me two weeks off. I had planned to take two weeks off anyway, because I take longer to recover. I am 44 and I don't bounce very quickly from surgery. This was my 11th surgery procedure.

I actually felt better after 7-days, but I am so glad I took two weeks off.
