Hi - I never post but read some.

Once a schedule of events is posted - I will chime in on whether I can make the trip or not.

Do many people come alone ???

Thanks !

Ellie

EllieMae I'll be coming by myself.

I did not know there were conferences going on. Don't forget Florida! I can recommend Orlando for obvious reasons but Tampa is also a great city and close to several attractions. It's also less expensive than Orlando.

Meanwhile I'm trying to get a feel for the conference. Are there several breakout sessions that run consecutively or is it one presenter after another?

Do we do other activities as a group? Is there time for optional excursions like on cruises?

Got any "prizes"..you know, raffles, silent auctions ?

Could you please add Dr. S, our resident plastics guru to that presenters list? I am very interested in plastics.

Oh, and will vendors be there?

I am thrilled you guy are planning to hold this conference in NYC! I have wanted to attend one for a long time even though I am pre-band. My preference is for NYC, but could make a NJ location close to the city. Would not be interested in VA or PA locations. NYC or bust!

Can't wait to find out the details..so exciting!

As a native New Yorker I currently live 12 miles from NY in NJ area. Whatever you need to know about the area, contact me and I'm willing to assist to make this a great conference.

I would be very interesting, could you please give me more details, what happens at the conference, do they go all day or night, what is the cost, what does it include, etc. Thanks

I would be interested in coming, but don't feel I could afford hotels, etc... in NYC.

That sounds really cool! The only issue I can see is that it is COLD up there that time of year!! brrrrr...don't have as much insulation these days! I would love to come, I will have to see if my budget will allow me. Thanks! Denise

What location do you prefer NYC or NJ (keep in mind NJ is much cheaper than NYC)?

The dates for the conference are 03/27-29/2009

Either or. I think making it affordable will help more people attend.

I would love to attend this. I was jealous when I read about the one in Texas because, I knew there was no way I could go to that. Count me in!!!

I would really love to come, espically since the location is so good for me. Unfortunatly I have already planned to be in Florida for vacation that weekend.

I am satisfied with the choice of New Jersey as it is very close to NY city and offers fantastic outlet shopping - 150 discounted outlets all in one mall! I would love to see a Broadway show in NYC. Depending on the dates I would be willing to come. I live in Ottawa Canada so would probably drive. I look forward to receiving an email confirming dates and conference cost. As for the posting asking if food is included I think that it would be difficult to satisfy everyones palates and would prefer to purchase my own meals.

I'd love to go to a conference, but I'll wait for one closer. Also, more warning would be a good thing. In these hard economic times, spending several hundred dollars or more requires saving up. Other conferences give up to a year or more notice so if one appears on the schedule that is conveniently --or enticingly-- placed, attendees can start putting money aside.

Thank you everyone for your well wishes! I totally forgot I wrote an update here... I'm one week post op today. I gained 15 lbs in water weight overnight because they had to give me tons of fluids to bring my BP up after surgery! I stayed one night in the hospital. Everything has been fine except I seem to have picked up a bug while I was there and I've been running a low grade fever, coughing, and a sore throat. So I've been hydrating well and sleeping a ton. So far the Covid tests are negative.
I haven't been able to advance my diet past purees. Everything I eat other than tofu makes me choke and feels like trying to swallow rocks. They warned me it would get worse before it gets better, so lets hope this is all normal. I have my follow up on Monday so we'll see. Living on shakes and soup again is not fun. I had enough of them the first time!! LOL

Still purging all of the larger clothing. This morning, a shirt that I ADORED wearing ended up on top. Hard to let it go, but it was also hard to let go of those habits that also no longer serve my highest good. Onward and upward!

Well, tomorrow I go in for an impromptu hiatal hernia repair after ending up in the ER over the weekend because I couldn't get food down and water was moving at a trickle... I've been having these symptoms on and off for a few weeks but Sunday was the worst by far and came with chest pain and trouble breathing. The ER PA thinks it is just esophagitis and that the surgeon and radiologist are wrong. But the bariatric surgeon swears it is a hernia, possibly a sliding one based on my symptoms. So he fit me into his schedule this week to repair it! I hope he's right and this sorts it out. He's going to do a scope afterwards to be sure there is nothing wrong with the esophagus. Here's hoping it all goes well!!
