Hey everyone I just want to check in. I've been away on a ski trip with my family for a week and I promissed my hubby that I wouldn't take my laptop (but I took my CrackBerry, so I guess I cheated). I really missed checking the boards daily to see how everyone was doing. I made a decison to workout while on vactaion (on the days I didn't ski) so I'm happy to say that the scale managed to make a move in the negative direction during my trip. I ususally dont update my ticker until I weigh in at the doctors office because I take their scales word over my bathroom scales. I still haven't hit my sweet spot, so my progress is slow, but some progress is better than none at all. They say that slow and steady wins the race and I'm hoping to take home the GOLD! Everyone keep up the good work. And Heather I'm jumping on your bandwagon, my next major goal is to be 200 or less by June!

We just bought an elliptical and my girls are walking with me at night. We’re into it one week now. Even the dog is chubby. And she’s pooped before me. Lol

I’m doing to make an appointment for a fill next week. Today’s been good so far, no grazing in the kitchen. I ate Breakfast at 5:30am and then lunch at 11am. Wasn’t completely hungry- but if I went longer I knew I would grab stuff I shouldn’t eat. For a pm snack I’m having leftover veggies from last night.

Thanks for the support; I’m here if you need me too. WE can do this!!!

Hi Novembers,

Can I join the Challenge? I would love to hit 175 by Memorial Weekend. That's a goal of 22 pounds for me. My big hurdle is getting away from the "one bite of this, and one bite of that". I can't have anything sitting out on my counters or I nibble. If I can get everthing out of sight, I can do it, and have a clean kitchen besides. :w00t:) Cindy

Cindy~ Sure.. When were you banned and how are you doing other wise? I'm the same way. i love to nibble. Test everything I make. I grew up with my mom always asking me- how does it taste. Do I need more salt or pepper. Just started working out again and walking. So I hope that kicks into high gear. I'm trying to get in to get a fill this week instead of waiting for next week.

Good afternoon Notorious Novembers!

I definately have restriction now - the second fill, and I'm feeling it!

Today has been great - ate half my usual amount of Cereal for breakfast, and have had what seems like a lot of food, but it's much less (calorie-wise) than ever before: a fresh apple (no pb'ing), 1/2 cup of turkey-veg-rice Soup for lunch with a few wheat thins (felt the restriction at the end), a few baby carrots and about a cucumber and a half (peeled, cut into strips). I'm pleasantly full but not stuffed, and no pb'ing today. I did have a few Ruffles, but restriction kicked in and I ate a lot less than I would have pre-band.

If I can keep this up, I'll definately see a bigger loss on the scale - I'm targeting 1500 cal per day, and so far I'm still 600+ calories left and dinner won't be that many. I know I need to leave the chips alone - that's a struggle I continue to fight.

I also walked at lunchtime (and this morning) and will get on the rower tonight before bedtime. It's funny, but the evening exercise has made a BIG difference in my blood sugar measurements - I am easily 40 points lower in the morning since starting the evening exercise. Wahoo! :cursing:

Hello,

I haven't posted on this thread in awhile. Still not losing. Went on vacation and since I have been back have had 2 fills which now puts me at 8cc in a 10cc band. Just got my last fill this Monday, which I am having a horrible time trying to eat anything. Took me over an hour to get a little piece of fish down last night. Today tried to eat cottage cheese for lunch and barely got 1/4 cup down. Just finally got some Tomato Soup down but took awhile. I am so hungry right now this sucks. I know I need an unfill and am going in tomorrow to have some taken out. But she only put in .3 yesterday. So I don't get it. Before that I was eating too much and not getting full and with .3 I can't hardly eat anything. This is getting so frustrating.

Hi Jewels,

I had the band place on Nov. 12th and I am down 37 pounds since I started the pre-op liquid diet. I am down 27 pounds since the surgery itself. I feel great and have decreased both the blood pressure meds and the diabetes meds. I try to exercise about 5 times a week and have a stationary bike and a rowing machine at home. I am soooo looking forward to spring and being able to get outside! ND winters are not fun!

Hi Cindy and welcome to the Memorial Day Challenge! You have done a great job so far losing 27 lbs since surgery that is awesome! I've lost 15 which is less than the goal that I set for myself but I am still very happy with it. It seems like we all have a good plan in motion, and with having workout equipment at home that must be nice. I'm up at 5am trucking my butt to the gym 5 days a weeks, but it is what it is. The good part is that when I come out of the gym I get to catch a glimpse of a beatiful California sunrise. I've got a fill scheduled for next Monday, I wanted to get one this week but my doc is on vacation {how dare she:tt2:}. so I think that gives about 13 weeks? I've always fround 13 to be a lucky number:thumbup:

WannaB -

How far apart were your last 2 fills? I am at 7cc's and still don't have enough restriction but I always waited at least 3 weeks between fills. One of my fills actually kicked in 2 weeks later. Now, my surgeon is so limited as to his office hours for fills that I have to wait until 3/18th (my last was 2/7th) and I'm nervous that I'm going to gain. Don't let your DR. take out too much - it sounds like you were almost there. Good luck!!!

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
