How long to eat a "meal"?

Recommended Posts

How long do you guys take to finish your meals and how many oz are they?

I have a hard time making my .5 to 1 oz. meals last even 10 min. let alone the 20 min. I was told was the minimum.

Can you tell me what the "rules" are for eating... the time, the reasons, etc? I'm still researching the sleeve, converting from my current band. Sorry if this wasn't the right place to ask, but I thought you might have some insight to share. Thanks!

It takes me about 20-30 minutes but I eat more than an ounce of food, more like four ounces. Although, I don't weigh or measure so I am not sure how accurate I am being. But apparently three ounces of meat is abouIt the size of a deck of cards add veggies and I would say it is like four ounces. Breakfast is 1/2 cup eggbeaters but by the time I add meat, cheese and veggies it is probably more like 3/4 to 1cup.

The rule for me is 20 minutes but if I am still eating at 30 minutes then stop. It takes longer for Breakfast because I am tight in the morning. I often don't finish my breakfast in 30 minutes and throw the last bit out. At lunch I am not as tight but it takes a full 20 minutes. By dinner, I have to pay attention and make sure I am eating slowly.

Youknowit, the rules are pretty similar to the band but for somewhat different reasons.

No drinking with meals. (The reason is there isn't room, not because you can flush the food out.)

Chew, chew, chew

Take 20-30 min. per meal but no longer

I tend to eat my 1-2 oz. in about 10 min. and I know if I slowed down I could eat more, plus I wouldn't get the foamies as much. I'm just having trouble with it.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
