i feel like a whole new person lol. i get attention i never have before and it still puts me in awe. i admit i still have a hard time accepting the new me becuase a lot of the time i still see myself the way i did a year ago so its a big adjustment but slowly and surley im getting there

my dr likes to keep his patients bands pretty tight and no matter what i have an appointment every 30 days. i think i just lost so much becuase i started with a very high bmi. i only eat twice a day with 2 Protein Shakes ( for some reason i really like them lol). i admit im pretty lazy so exercize aint a priority for me but im thankful for a young matablism lol.

I'm down 122 lb & looking to possibly lose 10 more but I am very much happy with what I've lost right now. I still have some distorted views of how I look because of the excess skin. I don't see a TT in the future anymore as we are having financial problems. I'll just deal with it. Also my port sticks out a little bit & will cause some discomfort almost on a daily basis. Anyway, I should tell you something good!

I'm like a size 13 now & can wear a S/M/L top. Usually a M/L. I've also been going out more but still no boyfriend. & it's horrible because one of my best friends told me he really likes me but he has a girlfriend. They've been together for 2 & a half years so he doesn't want to break up with her. Lame huh? Either way, I just like the flirting. & who wouldn't? Haha

I'm glad to see everyone is doing well. I can't wait until we all have our bandiversaries!

I'm still here. I don't get to post much or read it much but I do come on here & there to see how everyone else is doing. I was banded 12/20/07 & this week will mark my 11th month. It's been great- I've lost 102 pounds & have 61 to go to goal. I've been only losing about 5 lbs a month for the past few months but i've also been a little off track on eating & exercising. So I know where the blame lies.

But, I'm trying to refocus myself (hence the visit again to the website) & I'm setting holiday goals for myself- trying not to be too hard and planning to really focus in January. I was going to go for another fill soon but I don't think I'm focussed or committed enough right now (had a death in the family & it's taking its toll) so i will wait a bit.

i'm focussed on staying within 5 pounds of my weight (up & down) & it's working pretty well. That also gives me security that I will be able to maintain my weight after I reach goal (that's always been a problem- I can lose it but not keep it off).

Thanks for sharing your amazing successes & your trials & the suggestions. It's encouraging!

And it sounds like, for you all too, this was one of the best things we ever did! Have a great week!

Hi Everyone!!! I am still checking in here every now and then!! Haven't checked the Merry Losers in quite some time so It was so refreshing to see how well everyone is doing today!!

I have been at a standstill and even put back on 2-3 pounds over the past couple months. However, I am getting back on the wagon tomorrow!!! Got to stop this snacking!!!

I even chimed in on the November Nymphs who have a mini challenge going from now until New Years day. I am hoping to lose 10 pounds with some seriously hard work and effort.

luv2teach... Really sorry to hear how bummed you are right now. It's always easier said then done... but take the negative and turn it into a positive. Enjoy being an independent woman on your own... it could be the best chapter of your life!! Make it happen!!! Never fear new possibilities!!!!

You're absolutely right. Thanks for the support. Actually, I've found to avoid the loneliness at night and to put me in a better mood, I've been heading down to the gym around 9:00. it's a time that usually finds me wandering the kitchen, looking for things to eat and when I most miss having someone around. I've been pushing myself to go a little faster and farther every time on the treadmill. I'm up to a little over 3.7 miles in 55 minutes. It's slower than I'd like it to be, but I'm a work in progress. I've also been using the elliptical every few days for variety. I think the best part about working out hard, though, is the part I don't remember from before--the exhaustion after I'm done feels very similar to the way you feel after a good cry, minus the red face and puffy eyes. I also sleep far better. So...I'm thinking I'll probably get a fill after Thanksgiving, when I'm better equipped to deal with my eating. I haven't had a fill since April, so I think it's time...

Hey all you Dec. 07 bandsters! What a year! I have lost 60 pounds and probably can lose about 10 more. It has been a year of ups and downs for me, and I am still working at doing the lap-band thing right. I am wearing size 8 jeans (never happened before), and feeling so much better. It's encouraging hearing all of your stories. Keep them coming!

Wow... thanks for sharing!!! I sure choked and teared up on that one!!!

I don't think I will ever be "thin" per se... but I am loving this difference 60+ lbs. has made me feel.

I look at my pictures, too, from only one year ago, and it really does sicken me. I will never live that way again.

:)

Hi all my fellow Merry Bandsters. I don't oftern post but I do drop by to keep up on what is happening to my fellow bandmates. I am down almost 60 pounds now and this is the most I have ever lost (previously my largest weight loss was 25 pounds). My progress seems to be pretty stalled and I have been struggling with the 1/4 lbs since last May. I will be going in a couple of weeks for a fill to help kick start my weight loss since I think I have either been challenging my band or am too loose. Due to work deadlines, children and a sick dad in the hospital I don't think I can make it to the clinic until next week.

I see all your success and am amazed. I often get motivated by the support and success I read on these forums.

Thank you! I hope we keep this tread going even if it is only a few.

I hope for our year anniversary I can post that I have broken the next decade.

That article really hits home . . .I'm nowhere near thin yet .. . but the reaction I had to pictures from 2 years ago holding my grandson in the hospital were enough to make me cringe . . . unbelievable!

Thanks for sharing!

Chris

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
