I am just so... OMG...

My mouth would have probably overrode my brain on this one. How inappropriate of her. The quality of management and the degree of professionalism has declined so much in the past years. I would probably have offered to staple her mouth for her so she would have time to think about how to shut up.

Sorry, having one of the not so polite days.

In reality I would have probably just looked at her and then walked away seething and dreaming of smacking her with the stapler or something.

There is NO better revenge, true. Sad thing is she'll be gone, but hey, I'll still be thinner and hotter than I am today. :)

Omg, how slooooooow can 3 1/2 weeks go by??? The 10 months it took for my Hawaii vacation came like that, but this three-plus weeks is gonna kill me. :)

ARRRRGGGGHHHHHH, I can't believe I have to resurrect this thread!!

That boss I mentioned earlier? Well, I finally went over her head yesterday and went to her/our superviors and told them that she is continuing her whatever you want to call it against me.

What I hadn't mentioned previously was about a week prior to her comment listed in the original thread, when I had all these doctor visits to get this procedure started (she just thinks hiatal hernia) and before she knew there would be a surgery, I told her I needed time off for an appointment, and she asked if I was dying. Obviously I said no, but I said I may need some surgery in the near future. At that time, she said, "For what, a Tummy Tuck and boob lift?"

Okay, fast forward to a couple weeks ago when she made the staple comment.

Now the other day she said something ELSE. Of course now SHE thinks SHE has a hiatal hernia too, and asked (again) how they will go about doing it. Because I'm not sure, I have to lie and use the info I know about the LB surgery and told her they would do it laproscopically and might be able to use some old scars from my gall bladder surgery. That started another conversation about my gall bladder, and I mentioned how great that doctor had been. He was SO nice and had SUCH a great bedside manner, I told her, "I asked him if he did anything else," (meaning was he also a primary care physician). She said, "You mean for plastic surgery?"

WTF???

Okay, so enough is enough now. This is the third time in as many weeks that she has made some comment about my weight or plastic surgery/tucks/lifts. So last night I went to her bosses (also mine, just higher up) and said I'm a big girl and not a crybaby, but the fact is this is totally inapporpriate and uncalled for, and I'm getting sick of it. I don't want to tell her to "F off" in front of people, nor do I want to lower myself to her level. But I took it to them to see what they recommend.

I was given four potential scenarios by the one boss. First, say nothing (which she knows is not an option for me by now). Second, I can say something to her, which will turn into a fight, and likely result in her pulling other people from the office into this and drilling them on whether they ever heard her say something. Third, I can put it in writing, which will also likely result in her involving other people. Fourth, The two bosses (with or without me there) can confront her, which will also likely result in her involving other people. I asked this boss if, were the improper boss to involve others, would it not cross ethical and likely legal lines because she probably couldn't discuss the issue without mentioning my surgery (big HIPPA no-no).

Anyway, the second boss I brought into this had a better idea, one which I like very much. She said the two higher-up bosses (and me if I choose) would confront her, and the bosses would tell her, "This is inappropriate and illegal, and it is not open for debate or argument. We know you are doing this and we are telling you right now that if another word is said or even a whiff of this gets out to another co-worker, it will be grounds for dismissal, period." Mind you, she retires at the end of the year. The last thing she wants is to be fired. I like that one best. It puts the fear of God into her, makes her think about what she keeps saying, and has some teeth to it rather than the first round of suggestions which all would result in her bringing everybody else in the office into this mess (she can never be wrong or admit when she's wrong).

She's out of the office until Wednesday, so the two bosses told me to think it over until then and tell them what I want to do. Part of me felt like a big baby, but it wasn't about that. I didn't come home and cry in my corn flakes... I know I'm fat. Not a shock. It's just so... why are some people so inappropriate??

Wow. Well, hopefully she chooses wisely and shuts her mouth about it after that confrontation. I don't think that bringing it to the boss's attention is "crying" about it at all. What she's doing basically amounts to emotional abuse. The way she's making snarky comments does not come across as caring at all, but shallow and bitchy. What she's doing amounts to calling somebody that wears glasses "4-eyes." I mean, gees - what, is she in Jr High? She's really immature. Good thing she'll be gone soon. You shouldn't have to put up with that crap in the office. She's creating a poor work environment for you. Not exactly the best at boosting morale, huh?

I am about to ask her if she has absolutely no filter between that pea brain and big mouth of hers.

She has also made comments about my new grandbaby that were just as stupid. After seeing her newborn-in-the-hospital picture, she asked me if she was bi-racial. When I said no, she asked if I was sure, because of the "big nose" and all. :)

Then another day recently another coworker was saying how cute my granddaughter is (I have a succession of pictures over the last few months), and the boss said, "Yeah, she IS getting cute. Thank God, because in the beginning she wasn't so cute, ya know?" :(

I don't know if she's just an idiot or what.

I'd have a hard time not popping out with, "Wow, you know, some of the things you say are REALLY offensive. You might want to try a FILTER next time."

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
