Hello Alll.....I reached a RoadBlock!!!

Hello All,

I am so glad I found this forum, I have done my research and I've decided to get the Realize Band, I would like to have my surgery in the Summer of 09 if possible. However, I have already reached an roadblock on my journey to losing weight. I called my insurance company which is also my EMPLOYER and I was told that under our plan we don't have an Obesity Rider, which means I would have to pay for the surgery out of pocket at 100%. I was thinking of trying another insurance plan with an another carrier, what do you all think?? If you don't think that would be an good idea, do you all have any other suggestions?

I dont have any advice about your insurance situation, but I wanted to say hello and welcome to the boards!

Welcome to the board.. Think i would have doctor write a letter for the reason why it needs to be done. Make sure they give full detail on your health history. will take sometime, but it is so worth the letters, tears and all the good and not so good. good luck
