5th Fill...to tight or tough it out??

Recommended Posts

I had my 5th fill yesterday. I have 7cc in a 9cc band. Last night I couldn't sleep because it was if I was going to asperate on my own saliva. I kept having a mouth full of it! Will this pass in a couple days or should I have them take some out. Could this be the sweet spot...if I wait it out?

Choking on saliva at night is not a good sign. I'd drink a ton of Water to make sure you are not dehydrated, and then if you aren't feeling better by late day, call your doc.

Have you been having liquids since your fill.My doc says liquids 2 days and mushy 2 days and regular food on day 5. Day 7 is when my restriction kicks in. I hear some say it takes 2 weeks for there's to kick in. Mine eases off in a few days. As long as you adjust your eating habits. Try warm Fluid in the morning, small sips. I went through very tight mornings for a couple of months after several different fills. I just had my 6th fill last week and my restriction kicked in yesterday about lunch. I was banded in Jan 08 down 61 lbs. Love my band. Just be careful if it doesn't strectch out during the day, call the doc up. Good luck!:D

I think you are too tight but you should talk to Dr. I had this happen 2 weeks ago - was miserable for a week then got 0.2cc removed. I have lost 4 pounds since.

DITTO! :wink2:

I got a fill last night and have an appt in an hour to take a little out...I shouldn't have to worry about choking on spit. I haven't been able to eat since yesterday.

GOOD LUCK!

So, as long as I can drink Clear Liquids in the first couple of days after a fill, I shouldn't be overly concerned? I got a fill on Tuesday and since yesterday afternoon have only been able to drink coffee, tea, Water and Protein Shakes. No PBing or frothing at the mouth.

My doc recommends liquids but not clear after a fill...which I obided by. After not being able sleep and worrying about choking all night, feeling like I was going to throw up...I decided to go for an unfill. It looked like the NP put in 1.5 cc so the doc took out 1. Just had lunch and all feels well. Thanks for all your in put!!

I was able to eat some Progresso Minestrone for lunch! Yay!! AND (drum roll please) I think I may be at the so called "sweet spot" since just 1/4 cup satisfied me!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
