Me, too! I've finally figured out "PB," but it would be helpful to have a list of abbreviations/terms that are unique to this forum.

The slimes are when you eat something that was not chewed enought or will not go through the stoma. Your body sends all this thick slimey mucous trying to clear it. Sometimes the slime comes back up and it makes you shiver. If after several minutes of slimming the food does not go through the stoma it will come back up and that my dear is a Productive Burp!

Hi,

Congrats on the band. I'm waiting for reports and test results to get to the dr, to get to the insurance office!

Did you spend 1 or more nights in the hospital?

Thanks for asking the slime question, I was wondering myself!

Hello Dianne,

I spent one night in the hotel. contact me if you want any other specifics of the surgery before during or after. It is fresh in my mind and I wish I had known what to ask and what to expect. It is great. I am so happy. I hope your approval comes soon.

Oh to be slimed..It's a bit like ghost busters.Last week for the first time ever I went out for lunch everything went down well then on the way out of the shopping center I tried a taster and that didn't go down well..I be honest I felt really like I needed a huge burp it wouldn't come.So being stupid or something I decide to have a mouthful of coke....Well that burp really needed to come. All the way home 15min's which felt like 50 .In the end I asked my friend to pull over.So my huge relief a burp was on it's way..one being mild but better than nothing....OH MY along came slime over following my cupped hands into my lap and onto the floor of my girlfriends new car.Needless to say it was only mucus and slime had no smell .slid of my lap and out of the car and easily cleaned up.However I was very embarrased and she has let me back in the car again.I had never had it befor so wasn't expecting anything to come so take note if you really need to burp and it doesn't come don't add coke unless you are prepared.Saying after there was instant relief.

LOL Thanks Annette.

How long have you had the band? Are you thrilled with it? I am still probably 4 months away. My stuff hasn't even gone into the insurance company yet. I really am ok with waiting and preparing myself for this huge change.

My husband and 2 or our friends are going on a last buffet cruise the middle of September. It sounds like it wll take that long to schedual my surgery anyway.

Nothing like this has happened to me yet but I know it will! I am worried about the lunch meetings I have at work. We all bring our own lunch but I am worried that something like this will happen at work. My other problem is that I always burp after i eat anything or drink Water. I can't let that happen at the meetings!

Hi there Sunset and all..I've not replied as I have been on the Goldcoast (Queensland) for the last ten days.Fantastic.Anyway Iam absolutley chuffed to bits with my band. For the first time in a very long time Iam NOT PUTTING ON and on a good week I loose. What more can I say.I wish I was alot more dedicated to do more exercise and watch everthing I consume but I don't and that is why I had it done because if Iwas I wouldn't have got to this place. It's a really good choice however you do still need to watch what you are doing to get the best out of it.So if you have a bad week well I find I just don't put on

Take care beeee good

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
