OK- Don't Laugh

Recommended Posts

but I'm getting ready to start exercising but I can't get this off my mind.

I just have an issue(you can laugh a little bit) that if I run that my port and band will be bouncing all around and it can't be a good thing.

If you're done laughing, please talk to me.

Thanks

You'll be fine, I run at least 3x a week and no issues yet. The only thing my doc recommends against is ab work before 3 month post-op.

my port and band do not move.. but the tube connecting them can... not enough to hurt anything but i noticed when rocking my daughter it was moving with every rock and it was freaking me out lol. Dr. says not to worry about it but it bugs me to have it moving around... only noticed while rocking so far thankfully

I am curious what that feels like - I have never felt the band or the tube but can feel the port right under my skin - all the edges of it like a round disc - is not hidden at all - I do not have a lot of abdominal fat so there was nothing to hide it in - that is the only part of the surgery that I am not happy with.

yeah i can feel my port too. It sort of freaks me out to think about it. I am not sure why but when i think about it or feel it i don't like it at all seems foreign. part of me wants to scream get it out lol. SO i try not to think of it. It is helping me alot. It is hard to describe its almost like what you would imagine a baloon that is half Water and half air feels like. If you held it in your hand and sloshed it around the way the water felt when it hit your hand that is what it was like. happens every time i rock her. very wierd. not necesarily unplesant just wierd.

i have been told that i have alot of large nerves and it makes me very sensitive to things.. i can feel the band all the time too.. or where it is anyway. especially if i take a big drink of something cold you can feel it hit your stomach like twice once in the pouch and once after it goes though.. also if it is something hard like a pill, it forces its way though sometimes if i take it to early in the day and i can feel where it goes through, painful that one is.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
