I was very naive to think that I would lose weight faster than this - I stupidly went out and bought as "incentive clothes" a new pair of size 12 jeans and some other things thinking surely after 4 months I would be in them - I got banded on June 27th so just past 3 months but I can see that my goal of TX-OU weekend on the 11th and my hopes of wearing those jeans will not happen and wonder if it will happen by year end. I am not eating a lot at all and especially compared with what I was eating before - I just had a Protein Shake and a Vitamin Water for dinner and my stomach puffed out like it always has and looks like I am 8 months pregnant - I am down only about 10 lbs - okay that is better than nothing but anyone who thinks the band is easy and weight will fall off needs to realize it is almost just as easy to diet without the band - sorry for being negative today but am really down right now - have another fill tomorrow -that will get me up to about 3.50 in my 10cc Realize Band - maybe that will help. I am just venting. Thanks.

I'm sorry you are struggling so much.

Are you working out as well as watching what you eat? Puffing up like a balloon after drinking a Protein Drink may mean you are lactose intolerant. Personally I haven't been drinking the Protein Drinks. They simply do not fill me up. So, I stick with hard Proteins first and then veggies. My carb & sugar intake are very, very low too.

I feel like I eat way too much food for a banster, but I am hungry and still losing just around 2 pounds per week so I am not reducing what I eat.

I am very pleased with my loss, but I know without watching every bite I put in my mouth and working out daily, I wouldn’t have lost nearly as much as I have.

i can totally understand your dilema. for me, i'm too scared to go out and buy new clothes because i know i won't be happy in the size that i fit in now... i want the clothes size to be smaller so i'm waited to go shopping. now my clothes are baggy and don't fit and i look worse than i did when the clothes DID fit.

You may not be eating enough, actually. Depending on what you weigh now you may need to up your calories just a little. Make sure you are getting between 1000 and 1200 a day (that's a good average guideline unless you are much larger, like me, or really close to your goal and I assume, having just lost 10 so far, that you aren't).

You need to eat enough to lose efficiently.

Make sure you are getting your calories and Protein. If you aren't getting enough your body retains instead of losing. I would ditch the Protein drinks and eat food, that will help you feel full and satisfied after meals.

Have you been exercising? That is the hardest part for me. I really have to schedule the time or it will not happen!

I am sure you know all of this, but sometimes a reminder will help you get back on track! Keep working, talk to your doc and keep us posted on your progress!

Hi, I am 14 mounths out.

A size 12 is a faint glimmer for me. I fit real well into a P large top, but pants are a solid 16WP. I do not mean to be negaive, I only buy what fits at the time. Granted I am not always happy :frown:with that, but I am usually to blame (too much wine). It is much better than the size 20/22 I was wearing!!! Always look at the up suide we are not gaining.:)

On day 4 of the 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Surgery scheduled for June 11th.
Soooo I am coming to a realization
of something and I'm not sure what to do about it. For years the only thing I've enjoyed is eating. We rarely do anything or go anywhere and if we do it always includes food. Family comes over? Big family dinner! Go camping? Food! Take a short ride or trip? Food! Holiday? Food! Go out of town for a Dr appointment? Food! When we go to a new town we don't look for any attractions, we look for restaurants we haven't been to. Heck, I look forward to getting off work because that means it's almost supper time. Now that I'm drinking these pre-op shakes for breakfast, lunch, and supper I have nothing to look forward to.  And once I have surgery on June 11th it'll be more of the same shakes. Even after pureed stage, soft food stage, and finally regular food stage, it's going to be a drastic change for the rest of my life. I'm giving up the one thing that really brings me joy. Eating. How do you cope with that? What do you do to fill that void? Wow. Now I'm sad.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!
