LELLOW!!!!! **Huggzzz**

So nice to see you again! You should be thrilled that you are even after so many challenges. It was a hard thing for me to face for 3, almost 4, weeks but the folks here were really, really supportive. I think I've finally gotten it in to my head to recognize that by this point in any prior diet I had already gained back everything I had lost and started building on top of that. Those days are over for us!!!!

Fill #2 will surely help, even if just a bit. I got #1 a week ago and haven't had any changes. I'm not scheduled until November, but my dr said to call if I felt like I needed it earlier. You can bet I'm callin' him soon!

Hi!

I got my first fill last week. I'm down almost 4 pounds since then, but I think it is a fluke because I had a PB the other day & was too scared to eat for a day after that, LOL.

I only weigh in once a week on Mondays. So, if I use yesterday's weight, I've lost 15 pounds (I didn't adjust my ticker yet - need some help with that feature). Here's hoping to see more come off over the next several months!

(I didn't adjust my ticker yet - need some help with that feature).

abrenner, just click on your ticker and it will take you to the site. Input your password, it'll change pages again. Scroll down, change your current weight, then click "next" at the bottom of the page. It'll change pages again. Then just close the site. Refresh the LBT page you were on and it should show the new stats. Hope this helps. You can also do the same thing by going into User CP and going to edit signature. When your signature pops up, click on your ticker in the upper preview section and it'll do the same thing as above.

Lanakila,

It's soooo good to see you too! I'm supposed to be working now but am sneaking off to check this forum, hoping to catch up on how you and the other August banders are going.

And you're absolutely right! If this was another diet, I'd have put on weight and be heading back to the starting line all over again. I am so used to that scenario that I was sure I'd put on weight this month! But I didn't!

I also know that my first fill wasn't restricting me too much. I could eat just about anything, and in quite large amounts. I did have 2 episodes of PB, which was nasty, but I've found that I'm intolerant to rice, and as long as I avoided that particular food, I could have steak, bread, Pasta, anything else.

Since my 2nd fill though, my appetite has reduced. Not so much I think I'm at my sweet spot, but definitely enough to start losing steadily again I think. My Dr hasn't given me a date to go back, just to go back once I'm getting hungry often again, so that's good news.

I'm so glad you're doing well, and finally had your first fill too! I saw that Ro still hasn't had hers, and that a few people have been refused fills as they're still losing steadily. Amazes me how differently we are all getting treated.

Shelby,

How much Protein are you getting. I had a few weeks that were really rough and then I learned here at lapband that if you take your current weight and multiply it by .37 it equals the amount of Protein you need. When I increased my protein I started to lose like crazy and was rarely hungry until my second fill. Now I am hardly ever hungry. Good luck and a four pound loss is still a loss

Thanks for the advice. I'll up my protein intake and see if that helps!

Hi guys,

long time no see! I am not weighing myself much anymore, and because I'd spent the last month eating crap and not exercising nearly as much as I used to (due to work commitments), I was sure I'd put on weight from the 3 kilos I lost early on after my fill.

But I went to see my Dr yesterday for fill #2 and I haven't gained any weight. So basically I've lost 3 kilos (6.6pounds) for the month between fills. He says he expects the average patient to lose about 3 kilos a month, so I'm actually right on track!

Total weight loss since that first phone call to the Dr in the first week of July: just a smidge under 27 pounds. :cursing:

Hi Lellow,

I'm glad to see your back! I'm worried about tomorrow, I started that special time of the month this week and even though I've found my sweet spot already....tomorrow is not going to be pretty. I have put nothing but crap in my mouth all week. I'm not very proud of myself at all!:wink2:

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
