Hello all!

I was banded today! finally... I am not doing to bad, I am just sore and swollen. The only issue that I have is I am able to drink more than what I thought I could! I am able to drink 4-5 oz. Is that normal?

Oh and I am walking. I don't let myself sit or lay for very long!

Congrats Becky, just think you are now a Bandster YAHOO!! I was so excited that I could not wait to post once I got banded, and the support that I got from this message board had made all the difference in the world of being banded.

Someone told me yesterday that I need to stay off of these boards because of the bad things that are sometimes reported. Now, I don't know about you but I believe when someone tells their story it can sometimes help me and sometimes don't but I don't stay away because there is some bad. Stay strong and take it easy. Keep us posted on your progress.

Congrats and welcome:) I felt the same way after my surgery. I had read that you can only drink very little, but for me I had no problems with drinking at all. Just remember not to gulp or drink too fast. It is good to keep walking. I did the same and never had even 1 gas pain.

Good Luck with your journey and let me know if you have any questions. You will not believe how fast the time flies!

Congrats Becky... My doctor expects us to be able to drink 5 oz of Protein One hour and 5 oz of Water the next hour so you being able to drink 5oz sounds about right.. ... As long as you are not in pain... If you start feeling uncomfortable i would cal your doctor.. But I am super excited you are feeling well.. i have to stay the night in the hospital.. My hubby is going to be banded on Wednesday and I will be banded on OCt 1st.. I am so excited ... best wishes sent your way

Wow Loseweightin08, you have lost that much weight just this year WOWOWOWOWOWOW!!! I want to know what you did if you don't mind. I was banded on Sept.8th and I'm down 28 lbs and I have 86 lbs to go to meet my goal of 150 that I've set for myself.

I was told that us Lapbanders can lose as much as the Gastric patients but at a much slower pace like a pound a week, but you have proven that it can be faster. Are you working out? How many calories are you eating everyday?

Okay, I am so excited for you and I because you give me hope for myself and I thank you. Please pm me if you like.

WOWOWOWOWOWOW!!! Congrats! You are doing an awesome job cool.

Becky, I was just banded 9/4, and I had no problem drinking after surgery. I also still have good restriction, although, I feel a little hunger and occasional cravings. I'm definitely not going through banster's hell yet. I was a little concerned that I would be since I was able to drink liquids so easily early on, but so far so good.

Thanks for all of the info and well wishes! I am doing good! Other than just having a sore stomach. Even that is managable! Just think this time next year how good we are gonna look and feel!

Now begins our new and healthy lives!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
