Congratulations to both of you. It does get better. Everyday when I woke up I felt better than the day before. Now I'm just hungry most of the time with trying to get the fill at the right spot.

thinwithin you need to take deep breaths and walk...that will help prevent the fever! If they gave you your incentive spirometer, use it for 10 times once an hour for a bit. If you are too sedentary, Fluid can collect in your lungs and cause pneumonia if you don't stop it. One sign of that is fever! That's not the ONLY reason for a fever of course and if you catch it early it is minor minor....like cleaning a scratch so it doesn't get infected. A scratch is minor, an infection is more problematic. You're at the scratch stage! So breathe and walk! :girl_hug:

I didn't really worry a lot about the surgery. But when it came time for my first fill, I don't know why, was scared to death, the nurse and the Dr. could both see it when I walked in. It turned out to be nothing, a quick poke and they were in, when they remove the needle it is the strangest feelings ever tho', doesn't hurt just strange.

Congrats to another bandster from Carolina. My band date was 1-18-08 in Pinehurst,NC. Hang in there, things will get better, every day!! I am loving the help my gives me. down 60lbs. Lots of energy. remember to walk, lots of little short walks until you build up to 30 minutes a day, then 60minutes aday. Then by the time the dr releases you for regular exercise your body will be ready to go. Of course there have been some tough days as well, you will need to be ready when they arrive. Just remember what you signed up for when you got the band. Use your tool daily, As that weight peels off things will get easier and then you will get another fill, and repeat until you get to that sweet spot. Good luck. This site would have been nice if I could have found it prior to my surgery. Oh well, we live and learn. Keep reading and posting, you will find some answers, I bet.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
