pre menstral tightness in the band?

Recommended Posts

hello

I was banded sept. 1 2006

I have a quick question, I'm going to start my period this week and was wondering if anyone else experiences tightness in the band before and during your period?

I just had my 2nd fill and my dr. said that it is very comman to feel pre menstral tightness. I can't remember exactly why and haven't experienced it myself though!! However, I think it would be great for me since I am such a carbaholic before my period!

I wish! I've only had 2 fills so far and haven't achieved proper restriction yet. I've had 2 menstrual cycles since being banded and don't feel any difference in the band prior, during or after.

Yes I always get tight right before my period. I only noticed it though after my third fill. It is kind of a pain but in the same sense you are not overindulging like you would before.

Perfect question. LOL its that time for me and I am tight. Its because of the way your Water fluxuates when its that time. So its the same as getting bloated. I am actually curious know if i took a midol would it make me less tight.

2 times now I have gotten filled right before my period. My band was so tight. The first time I spit and foamed and couldnt keep any thimg down and had to be unfilled completly. I let things rest and sterted getting filled slowly again right before my period it happened again, I was in the er for 7 hours and then they unfilled again. I have no fill and havnt since the beginning of July. I had a CT and ruled out my band being slipped. I dont know what to do, I hope this time it doesnt happen. I havnt lost any weight, probably hae gained 5 lbs.

I don't get tight before-hand, but toward the end I do - I'm really tight right now; can't hardly eat anything

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.
