Banding with Autoimmune Disease

Is there anyone here with Sarcoidosis, Lupus or a serious lung or autoimmune disease? Did you have the surgery and are you experiencing any difficulties because of your autoimmune disease?

WOW! This is great news, my doctor never said anything about risks regarding banding and autoimmune diseases, but someone here gave me a heads up and told me that their doctor would not do it if the patient has any autoimmune disease. I am looking forward to it and will be so glad to get the weight off so that I can start exercising again and hopefully my breathing will be much better and allow me to do so.

I have Sarcoidosis :frown: I'm one of the few peopl that started with this Disease in my Sinus Cavity and then It was found in my Left eye it's called "Uveits". I've had to be on steroids multiple times orally and in my eyes. I was recently Diagnosed with it in my Lungs & my Chest Lymphnoid last November. My Dr. states that the Lapband was a great choice and it should be fine. I was worried because working with an Infectious Disease Dr. They think I have what's called "Muscle Skelatal Sarcoidosis" and I was worried that with something foreign in my body my Sarcoid would go mental. All the Dr's have consulted and they gave the green light. They actually think with the weight loss it may benefit me in the future.
