2009 Federal Employees Health Insurance

Hello,

I have Aetna Open Access HMO (Federal Employee); Am searching unsuccessfully thus far, to find out which 2008 health insurance plan in Illinois will accept lapband without six months medically supervised diet / 5 yr weight hx.

I have sleep apnea.

Does anyone have any advise? Is it really too much to expect to find out ahead of time which Federal Employees Health Insurance companies will cover WLS... otherwise, I'm seriously thinking of trying to afford self-pay. Will also need to convince DH - really!

Thanks

Federal employee in Florida, will be having surgery in 1 week, covered by insurance. I have Humana. From what I hear though, most will require some sort of diet history letter. Call a surgeons office, and ask them which insurance has the easiest requirements. They work with them all the timw and know which ones are less of a pain in the butt.
