Wow, they changed the layout of the site...

Mom weighs in today and if she has lost 10 pounds, she will be getting her band tomorrow.

Well, I just talked to my mom and she weighed in this morning. She is down 12 1/2 pounds in the 2 week preop diet. Surgery is tomorrow at 9am! For those of you who pray, please keep her in your prayers.

Wow, this is different. I miss having the menu down the right side of the page.

Good luck to your mom tomorrow, Elizabeth! It's good that you're there to support her through this. It has made it alot easier with my husband being there.

Question for everyone...I think I'm going to do the Turkey Trot Thanksgiving morning. It's a 5K (3.1 miles) at the City Park in Parkersburg. My daughter did the last one with me, but she is going to be at her Grandma and Grandpa's on Thanksgiving morning (she's actually my step-daughter and it's her grandparent's year for Thanksgiving). I don't want to do it by myself. Is anyone interested? I did the last one in 45 minutes, so it's averages to about 14 minutes a mile. Just let me know!

Oh....I would love to go.......BUT im cooking the whole dinner this year.

The new layout is a little odd to get used to. I cant find where they put the User CP info that we previously had. How do we get to that info?

I have a question you guys...

I have two cavities...they aren't bothering me or anything but can that postpone surgery? I had the cavities back in April when Jeannie looked in my mouth and she didn't say anything...haven't got a chance to get them filled yet. I am freaking out about this.

Instead of it being on the top right hand side...it's on the complete top. I must admit I am so used to the old format this will take awhile. But I am looking around and figuring it out pretty quickly and it's actually rather nice...still a bit confusing but nice.

Elizabeth ~ Your momma is gonna be JUST fine! The surgical team knows better than to mess around with a fellow nurse!!

Kyla ~ no way could I handle a 5K right now (do you run or walk)...but this time next year I bet I can

Froggi ~ I can't imagine a cavity would stop you from having surgery. I had a cavity when I had my gallbladder out a few years ago, was scheduled for a root canal 3 days after. Everything was fine.

All ~ has anyone heard of "balloon ablation"? I'll spare you the TMI, but I'm having HORRIBLE and frequent periods. The OB/GYN put me on a pill yesterday (I'm fixed so it's just to try to regulate me) but it has so many side effects, several of which I've already had. Having a balloon ablation is an option they recommended over the pills. But if I can wait till next year, after I pay for my surgery, my out of pocket deductable will have been met

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
