So everyone in this thread likes Zumba huh?? I am not at a place where I feel comfortable going to a class, but I am thinking about buying the DVD and doing it at home. I will make my hubby dance too ha ha

Zumba is a lot of fun!!! And Great Exercise!!! Im more motivated in a class setting versus a dvd. I have a tendency to "cheat" when its on my TV. lol (Bad, I know)

Mary.. My husband has his surgery the week before me. he has lost about 36 lbs. He is doing so good, but he also had a period where he did not loose anything either. It was between weeks 3 and 5, but we are not both loosing and it feels good to be loosing again. I love walking with him. Usually he speeds in front of me with his long legs, but last night he walked at my pace and it was nice and enjoyable. Our 7 year old son walks with us and complains the whole time. ha ha He is in perfect health not an ounce of fat on him, but i tell him when he complains that this is to help prevent him from getting overweight.. I try to only make him go with us 3 or 4 times a week because he plays so much outside after school, but if his grandparents are not home to watch him he has to go with us.. It will benefit him so I dont mind and I usually dance along the trail to make him laugh.. I think he really enjoys it secretly because he is always asking if we are walking or not ha ha..I am lucky I had this chance in life and I want to enjoy every minute of it.. Before now I did not think I would have a chance to see grandkids, but now I feel I will get to see a lot more years and I am excited about it

St pete is nice does your brother live near the beach?? I live in Tampa so he is not to far from me..

I hope everyone is having a terrific day...

Meshcultz- I like to walk with my husband and son, too. We usually just do it for family time now, though. I walk faster and longer than my husband right now, so I don't get a lot of work out walking with him. But, we both got a bicycle and had been doing that together before it got too cold. That was a lot of fun and a great work out. Our youngest is 8 and he doesn't like to go because he said we make his legs hurt!

Are you guys talking about paying the hospital upfront or Kaplan?? I didnt have to pay a cent up front, if that were the case, I would not have had the surgery done because I couldnt afford it.. Now my insurance pays 100% of Camdens fees I just have LOTS of bills from everything else like anasthesia and kaplans fees and all that crap.

My husband and I both had to pay our Out of Pocket to the hospital the day of surgery. It was $750 each.

kdlee.. that is so funny my son says we make his legs hurt too ha ha.. I always tell him if my legs can make it so can his.. How the heck can they be so small and hurt so much.. Kids are so cute.. My hubby walks faster then me, but he is usually in sight distance of me and if he is getting to far he will walk to be with me for a little bit.. So we just make sure to stick together and we really enjoy our walking. We have bikes too and he wants to ride, but I am not that graceful so I told him i wanted to loose about 50 more lbs before we started the biking thing ha ha.. just being extra cautious..

My brother lives in St. Pete not the beach but Dr. Rehnke's office is on the way to St. Pete beach. I always drive to the beach and walk if I have the time. I'm so glad that you and your husband are doing so good. Thanks for writing me!

Mary

I had to pay my deductible in full. I hadnt met any of my deductible at the time. If I had...they would have subtracted that amount from my deductible and I would have had to pay the difference.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
