See if your doctor will do the x-rays with you when you are getting your fill. You should be able to stay full for quite a while. The size oh my hole between pouch and stomach is a little smaller that a quarter. I've seen people who didn't feel restriction until they had their 7th fill. If you do an x-ray, you'll have better luck finding your sweet spot.

REMEMBER there are ways to eat around your band. If you are not eating correctly and exercising the weight will not come off. Its plain and simple.

Just keep your chin up and don't let yourself get discouraged. You have taken the right step and just need to get a little more help. :]

Some times it takes a while to hit the sweet spot, but until then it is a smart idea to journal everything you eat...this makes you much more aware of what you are eating. Sometimes we forget and we just don't have an accurate account of what we are eating until we get it down in black and white. You need to contact your doctor for another fill if you don't feel restriction. My experience was I eventually felt restriction and I have felt restriction ever since.....and that has been over a year. Keep us posted and pay close attention to yourself.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
