hi everyone!! my name is amy..i'm from nh...i'm 5'3 and very overweight...i talked to my dr on july 22nd and got the approval from the ins co a few days ago..i'm happy nervous, scared...getting lapband is something that i've been thinking about for a long time...and now that i know its a reality, i have a lot if emotions...

back in 2004, i lost 120 lbs..it took me a a yr and a half..and i managed to gain it all back...:cursing:

its nice to have a place to chat about it..and talk to other ppl who are in the same sitiution..

i go to the seminar on sept 4th..and then i guess everything goes from there...

I just called the surgeon office in Concord. I will go to a meeting that they put on via dartmouth clinic.

i didn't know there was a place in concord to go..i have to go all the way to manchester...

ever since i got the approval notice from the ins co..i've been scared too.. but i know its something that i need to do...i want to live my life as a normal person...being able to go to a resturant and just slide right into a booth and not worry about fitting...

Hi Kathy and Oshute too! I guess we are all neighbors. Kathey, I am sooooo proud of you for calling about the meeting. I was lucky to have my husband and daughter with me. You can do it. You will learn so much and will realize that this surgery is not as bad as you may think. Its all for the good. Yes, I am scared too. My inusrance co. called me yesterday and told me all I need to do is pay a $300.00 co-pay and then they will cover 100% of the surgery!! I am in shock. I just have to wait for the predetermination paperwork to go through explaing to them that I need the surgery for medical reasons, not cosmetic. I don't think there will be a problem. My husband meets with the surgeon this Friday to get his surgery date. I still can't believe that the three of us are probably going to have it done. I have learned so much from everyone on the web sight. Oshute has answered some of my questions and has been a big help.
